Emails!

Hi,
I have a sony xperia J just bought it recently (I know I'm in the wrong forum but there isn't one for my phone). I've set up my email but none of my emails are coming through to my phone? I've chose all the right settings yet they don't come through to my phone, please can someone help me?!

Yeah my data and wifi is on, I haven't tried sending an email but I have gmail
