Emergency Call Button

I was wondering if anyone had problems or a fix for the Emergency Call button that shows up when you have to draw the pattern to unlock the phone. My problem with it is that it'll dial 911 directly as soon as you press it (I did so a couple times while unlocking my phone) instead of popping up the dialpad to call the emergency number, like on the HTC Hero.

Any comments or ideas will be appreciated
