Enabling Caps Lock...

my caps lock worked and was in black but today it is not working and it changes from black to blue and there used to be an underline when you double tapped the key and now it just changes to blue. Please advise if possible.

Welcome to Android Central! Which keyboard are you using? Is it the Google Keyboard or some Acer keyboard? When the shift key changes to blue, is it not Caps Locked?

Try long-pressing the Shift (up arrow) key instead of double clicking.

Mine doesn't turn on Caps Lock with a double click either.

I have a problem with the shift button on my galaxy S advanced, when texting I usually do so in english but I also use french spanish and greek. Today I noticed while trying to compose a msg in greek that the shift button was locked on caps (blue button with white arrow) and it only appeared when I put the keypad in greek, in all the other languages no problem!! What is even more peculiar is that when in greek it only locks when I try to enter the msg not when I try to enter the recipient, then it's normal!!!
Help!!! how can I fix it?

Exactly right. Initially the caps lock (up arrow next to the 'Z') is a black arrow with gray background. When you tap it once it becomes blue arrow with gray background. That is the normal 'one letter' capitalization. If you tap it again it becomes a blue background with a white arrow - this is continual caps.

Hope this helps. I just got the Note 4 a few days ago and am learning a little at a time.

In theory, you can enable the caps lock by double-touching on the caps up-arrow. In practice, you have to double-touch really, really, fast. This usually doesn't work for me. :(

If you touch the up-arrow once to go to single-caps mode, the icon turns blue. If you touch it again in that mode, it goes back to lower case (the icon is grey). If I try to double-touch it, but don't do it fast enough, then Andriod thinks that was two separate touches and I wind up back in lower case mode.

What seems to work reliably for me is to touch once to go from lower case to upper case, and then long-touch to go into caps-lock mode. A single long-touch from the lower case mode won't work.

The bug is that there is absolutely no visual difference between single-cap, and caps-lock modes! I've seen posts here and elsewhere saying that in caps-lock mode the arrow icon changes color from blue to white, but it doesn't on my tablet. It stays blue.
