Enough is enough! Need help with galaxy note 2 bugs/issues please!

Ok, firstly I apologize if these have been covered before but I need help with a few issues with my galaxy note 2 that Ive sure you guys have noticed as well. Im no expert but I have had android phones for a few years so I do know the basics. Im thinking it might be time to root/rom or whatever my phone because I think the issues I am having are bugs in the software though I have never attempted such a feat, havent really had a reason to until now. I absolutely love this phones, its super awesome, one of the best ive had but there are a few nagging issues I have that Im not sure if its just me or the software, usually Im pretty good with tech stuff. Have a samsung galaxy note 2 on att network android version 4.1.2 and ive searched around a little and best I can tell the newer version i have has changed some menu options which I cannot find and caused or not fixed some of my other issues.

1. I am unable to adjust the locations of the options on the screen when you pull it down from the top such as wifi, bluetooth, airplane mode and whatnot. Near as I can tell it was possible to organize them in the order you wanted before the update that added multiscreen support and it seems multiscreen support options under settings has taken place of the setting to adjust these icons and I cannot find anywhere to change them. Have you guys noticed this? how is it possible to change them or are they stuck now?

2. The media player auto playing when connecting to my bluetooth sync system in my ford F150 is kinda neat but highly annoying as it auto starts the player when it connects whether I want it to or not, and usually I do not because I rarely use my phone to play audio via bluetooth and when i do its through my Sirius XM app or pandora or some other media player and its highly annoying having to end the default media player and start play on my preferred app every time I shut off and restart my truck, or disconnect and reconnect bluetooth if you prefer. Is there a way to get this default app to NOT auto start playing every time it connects to bluetooth? I have been unable to find such an option and its getting on my nerves and draining my battery when I dont even want it on, GRRR!!

3. Pretty sure this one is a software bug/change but every android phone Ive ever had auto sets a 15 minute time reminder when I enter a calendar entry, which Ive gotten used to and is awesome as far as im concerned because an entry without a reminder is worthless. I have to turn on a reminder manually every time and have not been able to find any setting to change to revert this back to the normal experience that im used to on my at least 4 previous android phones. I have gotten used to manually turning it on now but its still annoying and i would like to be able to skip this step to save time as I use the calendar reminder features daily.

Thats all i can think of for right now, but im sure theres some I forgot. Hoping some of you experts can hook me up with some easy fixes to these issues or point me in the right direction of how to resolve them if possible, thanks a million!

1. As far as I know the toggles in the notification could never be reordered, but I don't really remember either( you would have to flash a rom that has that option to be able to do it).

2. I read some other posts that had the same issue that you are having, but with different phones, but I don't remember if a solution was found.(you might try searching the XDA forums, I think thats where I've seen it) Maybe clear the cache and/or data for the default music player.
Some apps you can disable in the application menu, but I'm not sure if "music player" is one of them.
You might also check the car dock settings. With some car dock apps you can automatically start any app when bluetooth is connected.

3. Did you changed the default settings for calendar events(-calendar-menu-settings-default reminder time-). It has set times that you can select(the starting default setting is set to 15mins. and goes up to 1 week).

As far as flashing another rom, I have yet to see a rom which didn't have more issues than stock. Plus many tend to be unstable. They do allow you to change a lot of aspects of your phone you normally wouldn't be able to do, but but always with a cost to something else not working right, whether it be an certain app or the phone itself.

Ok, thanks. I cant seem to find any dock settings other than play dock sound unless you mean on my actual head unit and not the phone, ill check that. I know that 1. could be changed prior to the multi screen window update, that update and the multi screen options replaced the ability to reorder them and ive been unable to locate to where it moved, I think it was just over written and never fixed even though there has been one update since then. I didnt change nor can i find anywhere to change calendar settings and ive looked through them all i think, I think it was a feature removed or overlooked or a bug, just trying to confirm if anyone else has had similar results. The default time is there, but the reminder is default off where as on all my previous phones its been default on when creating an event. I was wondering about flashing a rom to fix my issues but I kindve thought the same as you described about reliability. Thanks for your reply.

I only can help with #1 and you can go into Settings> Display> Notification Panel. You can organize them from there. I'm on Tmobile 4.1.2 so I'm not sure if yours will be different.

Cleanrom has less issues than stock and the lidroid 23 toggle mod that comes with it allows you to pjck and choose which toggle are in the notification panel and allows you to rearrange said toggles.

I have my phone synced with my prius c and love it.....i know for me the adjustment you are looking for ie: turning off the audio stream is through the car bluetooth set up. I can have it connect for phone, audio, or addressbook. i also find that if i stream pandora from my phone its much clearer than through the pandora app associated with the car...when i get in the car and the bluetooth connection is made if i've been listening to pandora that its pandora that starts up. but once again i think its the cars system that is looking to turn on the audio automatically and if i want to be on satellite radio i just hit the button on my cars screen that says audio and then choose satellite. maybe your cars system lets you set a default. i think it assumes if the bluetooth connects you want music.

as for the calendar...if you go to the calendar, then settings, there is a setting for the default reminder time.

i'm on verizon and yes i can switch the notification bar icons just like another user posted.
