Entering unlocking pattern crashes

Hi,

Today I got my very first issue with the Note 9. It seems that the app that validates your lock pattern is crashing on me.

From the lock screen, entering the right pattern results in a black screen for 3 seconds, then it's back to the lock screen.

I can still unlock using biometrics though, which is nice. But if I want to change any lock screen settings, I'm prompted to enter my pattern and it crashes with the "Settings has stopped. Open app again" message... followed by the "Settings keeps stopping" on retry.

What I tried so far : I uninstalled latest Bixby voice update and cleared its cache (the only suggestion I found in other threads). It didn't help

What I didn't try : Rebooting !! I'm deadly scared what will happen after reboot when I'll be forced to enter my pattern with no options of using fingerprints or face unlock :(

What should I do next ?

Case closed, here's the update :

I contacted Samsung and they reassured me that they could remotely unlock my phone if the following is true :
1. The device must be power on.
2. The device must be connected to the active internet connection.
3. Samsung account must be added in the device.
4. Location services must be enabled in the device.

I made sure everything was activated and I did the suggested reboot (by hold Power and Volume Down for 15 seconds). The pattern decrypted the phone and all is working fine now.

Thank you for this post... I had the EXACT same issue and could not find a solution... BONUS INFO: if you do not have Samsung account before initial set up of phone they can not remote to unlock phone... Hearing this from Samsung I was terrified that I would have to factory reset and loose everything....and was VERY HAPPY that just a reboot took care of it.... THAT SAID now that phone is fixed I plan to back up everything to cloud/laptop and factory reset as if it is a new phone now that I have a Samsung account (always been a fan of Samsung phones....never thought I would have to have an account so never set one up)
