Epic Cases show up on ebay...

Hard Rubber Shield Case K+ for Samsung Epic 4G Sprint - eBay (item 310242255894 end time Sep-16-10 21:39:55 PDT)

I'm thinking about getting this case. Any opinions on it? All I have to go on is pictures so I want to know if anyone has had any experience with a "hard rubber" case.

It looks like it will cover the sprint and samsung logos(which is a plus) and the price is right.

I ordered one (But mines has the Ace Card on Back) not 100% but I believe the hard rubber case I bought for my ipod touch is same material and it works pretty fine - I honestly just got the case just to have SOMETHING once the device is released within a few weeks we should have more selection on accessories - also Im not going with a screen protector either since it has gorilla glass no need for one.

Just bought one as well, although I might go for something better soon after.

I'm not sure i want to buy thiw thing, even temporarily. Ive heard of a lotcof people getting scratches and discoloration from crappy cases(and sometimes even expensive ones).

You MUST have read that thread in the EVO forum spot - IDK I don't see it being a problem and if it is Ill handle it with the manufacture but Im not hoping to go that route it should be JUST fine! - why is the case crappy? cause its AFFORDABLE why spend higher money for SAME effect what is it different plastic melting practices or something lol - u can get a dollar hamburger or go to a "fancy" resturant and pay over 10 dollars for same piece of BEEF a cow is STILL a cow no matter how you "sell" it LMAO

...um, this would have been good information to tell us yesterday! The stupid Slider cases for the iPhone scratched mine up REALLY bad around the bezel. However, a lot of people are stupid and don't know how to put on a case properly, so they could have damaged their phones that way.

I second this. Honestly, my experience with cheap cases has been much better than with super expensive cases.

Whoa whoa, that's an awful comparison to make. A $10 burger at a restaurant is always better than the $1 cheeseburger from McDonald's. Wth?

Cheap cases are often poorly designed and manufactured. They don't fit properly, they scratch, whatever. I'm not saying that all cheap cases are bad, but I do know that there are a LOT of really bad cases out there that are a complete waste of money.

Wow.

Have you ever eaten at a decent restaurant?

You should see a doctor about your tastebuds. I've had both quality hamburgers and that grey hamburgerlike substance they sell at McD's and I can assure you they aren't the same meat. :p

Funny how off topic we are getting...Sorry I contributed.

This case isn't a filet mignon, but it is a big mac and it gets the job done a lot cheaper. I love big macs :)

I will post an honest review of the case on this forum so we all will know if this case scratches phones or not.

1. Insurance - nooo, I mean, if I'm paying for insurance, and break the thing, will they cover it without a deductible? What about if I lose it/it gets stolen?
2. Is a hard case worth the extra girth?

Belt clips are extremely utilitarian, but I'm at bars and clubs in LA, and I [attempt to] hit on every female within a 100ft radius, so I can't really use a belt clip because that's... well, come on, you can't successfully hit on a girl if you're wearing your phone...

I'm just tryin to figure out if there's actually any point to any of the cases. I mean... my left pocket is *just* for my phone and gum, so I'm not worried about coins/keys scratching the screen. Just worried about dropping it or losing it at a club.

The point is if your phone was dropped. Trust me, I'm super careful with my phones, yet I've dropped them a couple of times. I like the invisible shield, but that doesn't really help against drops.

Aww, wtf?! There's no opening for the notification light! Once I can get a real case, this one's going in the closet! :p

Case lasted all of 10 minutes and then I took it off.

The good - The case was made well and fit good. I liked the feel of the hard rubber. It covered the sprint and samsung logos perfectly. Not one single scratch on my phone after installing and removing the case. Wrapped nicely around the camera and kept the camera from touching when setting down the phone. The phone still slides nice with the case on with no speed bumps.

The bad - Its a thin case but it still adds bulkiness to the phone. There is a hole for the notification light but it is in the wrong spot. I drilled a hole for the light and it worked but it stood out as an obvious mod and was a little bit of an eyesore. When typing with the case you get the moto droid effect. When pressing a number key, your finger ends up pressing against the screen. The opening for the capacitive button needs to be just a little bit bigger around the menu and search buttons.

This case has potential to be a great budget case if they would fix just a few issues. Correct the holes, make the screen case a little thinner, and give a little more room for the capacitive buttons. I'm glad I only spent $8.25 on this case because that is probably a fair price for it.
