Epic's RAM Memory

The review says it's 1GB ROM/512MB RAM and Samsung's website says it's 16GB ROM/512MB RAM.

Every app I've had installed only shows 512MB ROM/325MB RAM. Are they not reading the device correctly? Is there an app that does?

I'm at a loss.

I believe its 1GB of ROM and 512MB of RAM but we usually only see around 300MB of RAM or less. Then you have your 16GB sdcard

That's even more confusing because the app I have installed right now for these stats specifically says 333MB ROM used out of 498MB total. Below that it says RAM currently used is 65MB out of 325MB.

At the very least, shouldn't the app show 333MB ROM out of 1GB ROM instead of 498MB? I have seen no indication that the total ROM is 1GB in any app, widget, etc.

Or is the device only showing me as having 498 MB ROM because 502MB is used by the OS, so they don't display it ever having been available?

It only shows what is available to you. Os takes a bit of it

I can say for sure there is more than 500 mb of rom. The systems folder alone has over 700 mb on it on my rom memory.

I can understand that, but computers don't do it that way. I can see what my hard drive size is, how much is on it (both system and user), and how much is left.

From what you're saying, Android hides from us how big our drive is and only shows us how much we put on it ourselves and how much is left and if we want to know the actual size we need to root and dig around and total it all up.

RAM question for the Epic 4g

When I launch the running programs widget, and then click on summary it lists RAM and storage for program and sd card.
My question is where it shows my RAM, mine says 274MB/325MB. Does that mean I am using 274MB of my 325MB?, or does that mean I have 274MB left of the 325MB?
My running programs widget says there are no programs running also.
