Error Message when sending a text

Sometimes I get an error message when I send text messages. The message says that the number is an invalid 10 digit number...the only problem is I'm usually responding to or continuing a previous conversation with one of my saved contacts. I don't get the error message all the time and it only happens on my Note edge phone. Anyone else have this problem?
