I noted on their site when you go to the shop page, the phone page says "We will notify you when your for reservation product(s) is ready to ship. " At least there's no more timeline. That being said, hopefully you guys get your phones soon and review them. At this point I suspect I'll wait to compare to an official Pixel XL 2 and make a decision from there. One thing is for sure, if I order an essential, it'll be through Amazon, not Essential themselves.
PS - For those of you refusing the shipment and sending it back for a refund, good luck. Based on the experiences most of written about so far, I wouldn't hold my breath for that to go correctly.
