I own a pixel 2 and essential. my essential phone had pie and on the pixel 2 it still hasn't popped up yet.
I was in the Beta with my Pixel, but jumped on Essential when Amazon ran the $250 deal on Prime day. I love it so far. My only let down was that getting on the P beta wasn't as simple as with my Pixel. As I was trying to puzzle out how to do it the final release pops up! Great job. Have we heard when we might get on the newest security patch? Although I love the new Pie I know I want the best security as well.
I tried few times to get the Pie on my Sprint Essential. It hasn't come thru yet.
Great job essential! Updated 1057mb on At&t yesterday, took 4 hours to download.
My update size is 1047.2 MB. I'll hold off until I get home. Amazing that we get it on release date. So impressive.
this absolutely surpasses my wildest dreams, after my tremendous camera disappointment this is a huge plus for essential...
I was surprised to see my PH-1 battery down to 2% this AM. But after checking in settings I found that it had been 25 hours since full charge and 9+.hours SOT! I'm so pleased that I bought three PH-1s! My wife and son have the other two. BTW, the camera is not so bad because I have never had very high expectations for cellphone cameras. The PH-1 camera is just adequate and about the level of low-end point-and-shoot cameras. I use Nikon and Leica equipment when I want serious photos.
Way to go Essential!
I went to bed waiting for P. So much for 60Mbps Wi-Fi. Also AT&T sim card, Amazon unlocked, show Sprint in system apps. View attachment 287639
Go to: Settings / System / Gestures / Swipe up on Home button (turn it off)
You get the old system back.
This is a known issue. Essential reported on Twitter that in their haste to roll out Android 9 Pie on the first day, they forgot to update the Security Patch release date. The patch is the August 05, 2018 code, but the date is wrong. They said the date would be corrected in a future update.
