Everyone happy with Pixel so far?

Anyone else feeling frustration with the fingerprint scanner location? I'm used to being able to leave my phone in the table next to me during meetings & quickly check msgs/respond discreetly without picking up the phone. Any suggestions other than keeping it unlocked? That's not an option with my company's security policy.

Thanks. I was thinking about this as a potential solution last night. I might try it today and see if I like it. I hate sacrificing the ease fingerprint security, but it might be my solution for meetings. I'm still in my 14 day grace period with Verizon and I really want to love this phone. I'd hate to trade it in for the S7 Edge for something as stupid as easily unlocking my phone during meetings.

I just got my first full off day with the Pixel XL and I'm still really impressed with it. Even web browsing is better. I usually use my tablet, but when I can't, I browse on my phone, and it's been a better experience so far than I've had in the past. There is also a lot more fingerprint support in several apps.

Still really wish they'd integrate SMS into Allo so I could use it as my main messenger. That's not so much of a gripe with the phone as it is with Google for not understanding how important it is to have a competitive messenger on their OS.

I currently have a Note 4 and was thinking of an iPhone next, but I realize I love the Google ecosystem and the Pixel looks amazing and it would be nice to go all Google. This discussion has me thinking about the Pixel now. I'll miss my S pen but the Note 7 is gone.

Yeah, I'll miss the front firing stereo speakers for sure. But beyond that, it looks like the screen is nowhere near as bright based on my observations with my XPE at a VZW store. What are your observations in outdoor/bright light situations?

So I just took my MXPE outside with my Pixel. We are having a sunny day here in Indy. The MXPE is definitely brighter than the Pixel. I set them both to full brightness and also checked at half brightness. That being said, I don't think I would have noticed if I didn't have them right next to each other.

Loving the phone, but just found some dirt or dust or something in-between the display glass and AMOLED screen..... :(

Will contact google but Idk if they will do anything about it.

Yes...the speed is incredible and I have high hopes the "lag over time" will not happen. Camera is awesome and I like pure Android. But despite TouchWiz and some (I say SOME lag), I do miss my Note 7.

Me too. I think Allo is quite awesome. Room for many improvements but very nice app so far.

Re: Good? Bad? Something in between? How is the Pixel working out so far?

It is either a too-expensive non Nexus ******* son of an iPhone, or the second coming of Android and the start of the Google revolution. It's up to you to decide!

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be too much grey area here.

I also think there are 2 camps.

Camp one is the people who actually have the phone and love it. You know, that whole real world and hands on thing.

Camp two are the people who do not have the phone and just want to hate on it..

Google, VZW and Best Buy all offer 14-day return period so you really have nothing to lose. Well, VZW charges a restocking fee so I guess you'd be out that...

I always choose to believe the people who actually have the device, but maybe that's just me...

What about Camp 3. The people that own the phone and are having issues with camera flare/bluetooth connectivity/signal strength and are thinking of returning it?

And Camp 4. People that are just frustrated with life in general.

And Camp 5. People who are researching which device to buy...........:D

5" Pixel here. Had it 5/6 days and love it. No honeymoon period. Not trying to justify the purchase to myself. Everything about it is fast, simple and quality.

I think it's a really REALLY nice phone. My biggest and longest beef with Apple was I felt their product was grossly over priced. So now that I have a Pixel XL I mostly love it. but I do not know if it is really that impressive of a jump from the 6p based on the cost. I like it but even with so called disposable income I wrestle with is it worth the high end flagship cost??? The 6p will always have a year older processor and less RAM but a lot of the newer features on the Pixel are supposed to come to the 6p with a future update correct???

anyway... Love the phone.. Not in love with the cost...

I exchanged my recently purchased Moto Z Play after I learned Moto wasn't going to be investing in security updates. Also wanted a better a camera, so I picked up the Pixel XL yesterday and so far I love it. After using an iPhone for two years, the form factor wasn't a huge change, and I really love the stock Android experience.
It's a smooth experience and that's what I was seeking.

I'm a note person and can't wait to get back there but will keep this xl in the meantime. I will say that, when asked by people (usually older) who want a smart phone and say that they just want it to make calls and check a few apps, I've always told them to just get an iPhone. It's not my thing, but it is reliable and simple. I will now be telling them to get a Pixel. It's also not my thing, but it's reliable and simple and I prefer to keep people away from the evil empire.

Not many in camp 3 from what I can tell..

Camp 4.. Appears to be a lot of them.

Camp 5 should pay attention to camps 1 and 3 and disregard everything from camps 2 and 4.. LOL
