Everyone happy with Pixel so far?

This is probably my biggest issue and it's not really that big. All of my family and most of my friends are iPhone users. Messaging is an adjustment, but I have not found an easy way to send a video and maintain the quality between android and iOS. Google Photos sharing is probably the best option.

Iphone 6 user here, My decision to switch to android was fairly simple, I currently had the iphone 6, and the iphone 7 upgrades was very minuscule compared to the 7+ upgrades. I didn't want the 5.5 inch phone I prefer a smaller.

Okay so now on to google, I received my package from google yesterday, I performed the transformation from apple to android with the cords that was provided, very simple, and it allowed me to continue doing other things while the transfer processed in the background. I don't think I put the phone down the entire time, phone is very snappy, smooth, camera is awesome, and it's so many customizing options available that it probably will take me a solid day or two to fully grasp.

I will check back in a day or two, because this could be that honey moon phase, but first impressions coming from iphone 6 is I'm in love. That is all...Have a good one :)

Oh, I do miss receiving high quality videos from friends since they all have apple, I noticed when they send me a video it comes in small an grainy since its compressed, but pictures comes out awesome.
Download whatsapp and have your iPhone users download it too. Can send videos and pictures without losing quality.

I'm a note person. It has a lot of features the average person who just wants to make calls and check a few apps doesn't need. I used to recommend iPhone to those people. Now, I will recommend Pixel. I never said iPhone was simpler than the Pixel.

My point is that no phone is simpler to use than another out of the box to make calls, check messages or check apps. The phones being compared doesn't matter. I'm not bitter at you but it it is a peeve of mind to see people say any phone, let alone the iPhone, is easier to use out of the box than any other phone. It just isn't true. I'll never understand it and don't know where it came from.

Same here, I got them all started to use whatsapp. been working great for all of us.

Google Photos is the best option. My wife refuses to switch to Android. We use shared Albums for any events. It works out well. It is very hard to notice any compression in Photos or Video coming from or going to iPhone -- plus it give 'them' an option for free photo storage instead of paying apple a king's ransom.

Love Google photos. That's what we use to share all my daughter's pictures to the grandparents. They all use Iphone.

meanwhile, Google Allo is sitting there like "hey, what about me?"

Haha, what about it? I thought about pushing everyone to use Allo, but then it was a lot of work to convince them using whatsapp already. Not going through that again.

Haha...well, mainly for the new guy that is looking to start something off from scratch. Im in the same boat that I got my family to use Whatsapp but I honestly don't like it and would rather use Allo or Telegram. Too late now.

Well, if Facebook gets intrusive with integration, I will be out and work like hell to get folks over to Allo. :)

2 days with my Pixel so far and I absolutely love it, coming from a HTC M9 so far zero negatives I can say.

Battery life has been good, the camera is brilliant and the overall form factor is perfect for me.

What about Camp 3. The people that own the phone and are having issues with camera flare/bluetooth connectivity/signal strength and are thinking of returning it?

And Camp 4. People that are just frustrated with life in general.

And Camp 5. People who are researching which device to buy...........:D

Camp 5 here

Can someone comment on the size of the XL? I know it is on the thicker side which I'm not too happy about but heard it feels good in the hand.

I think it really depends on how big your hands are. For me, the XL is too big. I have the 5" Pixel and was worried I went too small but a couple of guys in my office have the XL and after trying it out, it is just too big, especially with those bezels.

I will say for both Pixels (especially the 5") that they are VERY well balanced. I can balance it vertically and horizontally on my finger (laying on its back). This is very impressive, especially with the wedge. This is why both phones are going to be SO nice to use in the hand. Unlike the Nexus 6P which is incredibly top heavy and almost impossible for someone like me to use and resulted in me returning it and keeping my 5X.

thanks for the feedback. I have had large displays for a while now and feel going to the 5" with 1080p and smaller battery is short changing myself. I had a 6 plus, 6s plus and now an s7 edge. I hated the size of the iphone 6 plus but managed as the 4.7 was way too small. I just went into the verizon store and held both in hand. I am a 31 year old woman so my hands are small, and while the 5" felt nice, I feel like the 5.5 was so much nicer to look at. I guess I am used to the screen real estate now. Plus the Quad HD display is quite impressive being that I have the s7 edge now

I took some low light video last night and it was fair to poor. Might be the stabilization as it looked grainy and "digital."

But overall, still loving the phone...

I would jump to allo permanently in a heart beat if it supported sms

Got a couple people to try Allo. They all went back to WhatsApp or simply stay on iOS with iMessages. Duo works OK, but I ain't trying to get anyone switched to yet another app.

Getting ready to pull the trigger.

I was kinda like meh for a few days but since I got a v20 to compare it to, I love the pixel even more. I'm going to miss my note 7 fireball but this pixel xl is reeeeaally growing on me.

I went and saw Tool last night and this is the first phone I've had that could take video at a concert in 4k. It was great quality and the audio sounds great too! Very impressed.

Took 4gb worth of videos and I just hit a button in Google photos and loaded them all to the cloud. Very nice!

That last point is a big selling feature: cloud storage for photos and video. The integration with Google apps is seamless, so it just works.

I just traded in my silver Pixel for a black Pixel XL and couldn't be happier. Coming from the s6 edge, the hardware of the standard Pixel was rather boring. The software was what really impressed me. The larger screen of the XL made the difference for me.
