Everyone happy with Pixel so far?

It's OK. Not too exciting. Kinda like an Android iPhone like people have been saying. Nothing flashy about it.

Absolutely love it.
Yeah it's Android's iPhone and I couldn't be happier.
I feel that this is the only Android phone on the market that's worth consideration. And I understand people may take offence to that, but here's my reasoning:
- Fastest updates and fastest security updates. No other OEM will be able to match Google here. I'm tired of being a second class citizen if I choose to buy another OEM's phone. This is the only phone where I'm confident that I'll get the latest Android updates. I can't say the same for other phones.
- User experience imo is hands down the best I've ever used (and this is coming off the Note 7 and HTC 10). Google put the effort into making sure their UI is extremely fast and smooth. They focused on touch response and things like that, many OEM's wouldn't bother putting time and money into.
- Unlimited Google Photos storage. A pretty big win for me. I can take all the photos and videos I want and not have to choose the high quality option and not degrade the quality. Don't know if this will roll out to other phones, but it's here in the Pixel and I'm really happy about it.
Aside from that stuff, I'm getting all the other usual great things like superb camera, great battery life etc.
So would I trade that stuff for another Android phone that, on paper, is supposed to be faster/better? No I wouldn't. Simply because there are certain things I'm confident other companies can't match and most of all, I trust Google above all other OEM's in their direction and support for their phones.
I'm so impressed with this phone that I'm not interested in the Galaxy S8, HTC 11, LG G6 etc. The next phone in my sights is the Pixel 2.

Honestly, you're better off just using the phone yourself and making your own mind about it, positive or negative.
I read a whole lot of negative comments after it was announced. From the price to no OIS to no ip68 water resistance etc, and when I finally got it...all that stuff really doesn't matter (to me at least) when you're using the phone.
It's got the best camera I've used on a phone, so I don't care if it doesn't have OIS. When I snap a pic and take a video, I'm getting excellent results, so I don't care what the camera module is, I'm just happy that it does a great job.
As for water resistence, as long as it can handle getting splashed on, that's all I'm after. No I'm not planning on going scuba diving to whip out the phone and send a text.
I've come to ignore a lot of comments on the phone, simply because they're emotional responses - not well thought out, articulated comments made after days of using the phone.
The only opinion that matters, is yours.

It's the internet so some (maybe many) of the negative comments could be from people claiming to have the phone but don't.. There are a TON of haters for this phone and my guess is that 99% of the hate is from people who do not have it..
I can't find anything to complain about at the moment...

I'm very happy with it. Camera and speed are standouts, but the total package is great. With the N7 no longer on the market, Pixel seems to be the one to get.
This is solid advise. Most positive reviews / statements are going to be from people who have the phone and are justifying their decision to buy it, and most negative comments are from people who didn't buy it (for whatever reason), so their negative comments are to support not buying it.

Honeymoon is not over yet & your spring fling is just a few months away via S8/11/G6. I've been around long enough to recognize some user id's & those who have an addiction.

Why would I, or anyone for that matter, be trying to justify buying something that I, or they, can return???????
Anywho, I've returned items before when still in the honeymoon phase.. Some phones / items don't cut it and you know that quickly.
The Pixel is a keeper...

Guys, how is the compass working in the Pixel? Is always calibrated (98-100% accuracy to the north?) when you open Maps in different places and situations?

It will be money very well spent. Its super strong and durable. Plus with a Snapdragon 821, it will last you at least 3 years. Plus you get all the latest updates from Google. It really is a Win Win

I'm not a Google Pixel owner. And probably won't be.
But anything that the Pixel isn't, is future proof.
The next batch of smartphones; S8 and iPhone 8 are going to be miles miles miles ahead of their time.
I have an S7 edge. I came from the iphone 6s plus. The iphone with its screen and design felt so outdated when compared to the S7 edge.
Yes, the Pixel is fast. But it's not a classic piece of hardware. Not to me. A classic piece of hardware is at least 3 years ahead of its time. And being objective, the Pixel is 3 years old already.
The future is curved screens with bezel less panels and sharp designs with safety features like waterproofing and shatter resistance and cameras with DSLR quality and what not. We see even apple moving towards the future now.
It's all in the marketing.
Fast isn't a good enough reason anymore.
IPhone 6s plus was fast. S7 edge is fast too. So is the Pixel. And the iphone 7. And the oneplus. And everything else basically.
I'm an android Fanboy. But not an OEM stuck boy. I see things objectively. Pixel doesn't add up to be an Apple or Samsung competitor. Not this year.
