Everyone happy with Pixel so far?

The phone is very smooth and battery life is amazing, but the screen is borderline inexcusable for a high end phone in 2016. There is a murky green/blue that gets much worse if you look at the screen even slightly off center, and there is a weird white aura around certain types of text (like any text in a browser) that gives me a headache. Just typing this and I'm getting a headache. I'm probably sending it back just for this reason.

Connectivity. Verizon says it isn't them and since no other phone I have had in this same location has had such trouble, I believe them. I know I keep harping on this, but I am paying Verizon for data and too much of the time, I can't use it. Also, I really want tap to wake. The fingerprint scanner on the back drives me mad, and I hate having to use the power button all the time. I know, whine, whine, moan, first world problems. But this phone cost as much as the Note did and while it's a decent phone, no way is it worth what it cost.

I've shown the screen to a few other people and nobody sees the aura, but I notice it the instant I turn my screen on and it's really irritating to my eyes. I'm going to look at a display unit at Verizon later to see if I'm just going crazy...

If I didn't get the pixel so cheap I'd honestly have sent it back already. I haven't experienced any connectivity problems, though. My connection has been amazing since I got it two days ago, although that's probably not enough time to really mean anything.

From M8 you are missing something? Other than M8 speaker, Pixel or any recent phone will be better than M8.

There are apps for this. I've never used any. My last couple of phones have had this feature, but I know there are apps for this. Just type double tap into the Play Store.

Definitely agree slacking on some features especially that htc made the phone

It's OK. Not too exciting. Kinda like an Android iPhone like people have been saying. Nothing flashy about it.

Well, after 2 weeks with my pixel, I have to say that I have mixed feelings. Build quality excellent. Right up there with the best. It truly is lightening fast and smooth, but when put against my S7 edge and axon 7, the speed is indistinguishable in real world applications. Battery life is fantastic. My pixel will go a full day plus , even with the smaller battery . The Google assistant has a lot to learn and I think it was overplayed when introduced. There's really nothing that makes me not like it. But, for the money, the S7 edge and axon 7 offer more with the S7 edge really coming in at #1. I'm going to keep my pixel because im thrilled with project fi. And even though both my other two phones would work on fi because they're unlocked, , I like having the ability to switch networks when one gets week. It'll be interesting to see what the galaxy S8 will offer. We all know it'll have its own assistant, VIV, from the inventors of siri, and the Qualcomm 830, plus 6 gigs ram. But take a good look at the oneplus 3,and their new 3t. Also the Axon 7. These are cutting edge devices that offer just as good builds, plus a whole lot more than my pixel did at the price we paid.its like buying an expensive luxury car. You get a fabulous drivetrain, but no a/c, no power windows, no power door locks, no antilock brakes and so on.

I had some thoughts like that about my Note 7. After some MILD disappointment with the Pixel Camera in low light, I really did look into the LG V20. But after tasting pure google and the fast response on this the Pixel, I can't go back to "skinned" Android.

I like my Pixel XL, but i don't love it. I can't put my finger on it, other than I wanted the V20 and I think I got caught up in the hype about the Pixel. I am not completely on board with stock Android and I really loved the G5 I came from when I switched carriers. I talked myself into not switching at the Verizon store twice this week. I'm in the 14 day window. Ugh. If I go back by there again, I'm going to return it. I just can't make myself love this phone. 1st world problem.

I had the axon 7 before the pixel and absolutely loved it other than having random radio drops on wifi and verizon's network. How would you say your pixel's screen quality compares to the axon 7 or the s7 edge?

I just mean that since no other phone I've had, in the same location and with the same carrier,
has had such extensive connectivity problems I filnd it hard to believe it isn't some problem in the phone's antenna or wiring or whatever. It doesn't deal with my wifi as well as the Note did, but about as well as the Lg G 3 did so I give it a pass on the wifi which is always a bit shaky here. I don't mean I've never had problems connecting to Verizon but they always before turned out to be something they were working on or dealing with and that affected a certain area. But that isn't the case with this. Whatever. I am tired of dealing with phone problems.

Well as it has been reiterated quite a few times, I did some more reading and research on the subject and google is very much aware of the connectivity issues and are working on a fix for it. Most of the readings stated that they are not sure if it is something in the chip or something in the nougat software that could possibly be causing it but they said a fix would be in play.

I guess the main thing here is that they know about it and are not denying it. I did exchange mine tonight at Verizon for another one and at least on a positive note I did not get the "No sim card" error as I was constantly getting on my original one so maybe my signal will be a little better. I will see with my normal drive to work tomorrow as I know the spots where I would go down to barely one bar and see what happens there. Otherwise I guess I will just deal with it unless the problem is fixed as I really love everything else about this handset. I could try making most of my calls through wi-fi at home in the meantime

I tinkered with a Pixel XL in a Verizon store here in NYC and I wasn't blown away by anything except that it was fast, clean and unfussy. I've accepted the no wireless charging and the non-waterproof aspects of this thing, and the missing SD slot doesn't worry me (128GB and unlimited photo/video storage). Not sure what else I want except a stylus and some awesome software to go with it, but in truth I just want a fast, functional, solid phone that won't die every day around 3PM without carrying a porta-charger all over the place.

Plenty of people seem to be less-than-impressed by it but I think it will work for me, so I'm hoping it will and I'll go with it.
