Everyone happy with Pixel so far?

Double tap to wake would have been great. I really liked the look of the phone. There are many things that I miss about it.
There are apps for this. I've never used any. My last couple of phones have had this feature, but I know there are apps for this. Just type double tap into the Play Store.

Just curious why you sent yours back.

It restated and then wouldn't get past the boot screen. When we finally got it to boot it wouldn't connect to cellular data. I got a new SIM card and still nothing. And the home button stopped responding. It was a mess. Verizon didn't have any in stock so I just got the iPhone 7 to be done with it all. Haven't had to return a device before this year since the original Palm Pre. This year I have had to return three smartphones within two months due to issues.

Anyone else have trouble with Bluetooth in the car? When I would get text messages as soon as I connect to the car every text I had received prior to getting into the car came through whether I had checked them or not.

Yes, that happens to me. It's a royal pain in the ... I thought it was just me.

I still like my Pixel but I can honestly say the camera has disappointed me more than has impressed me. Daytime, sunny day shots are awesome. Nighttime shots and videos are very poor compared to my last 3 phones: Note 7, Note 5, Lumia ICON.

Bluetooth in my 2016 Jeep Cherokee with Uconnect has been troublesome. It will often lockup my entire audio system and I have to turn off the car for several minutes to get it to come back. Can't even disconnect our unpair when this happens.

I'm not giving up on it yet even if the VG V20 is calling my name...just can't go back to "un-pure" Android after tasting it with the Pixel.

I am really enjoying pure Android, as well, and just how freaking snappy this phone is. And I'm using OK Google way more than I ever thought I would (in private, of course). What it lacks on bells and whistles it makes up for in performance.

BUT...I'm not entirely pleased.

I can't connect to Bluetooth in my car. And, when I'm playing songs from Shuttle+ to Chromecast, it regularly skipped songs or plays a few seconds of one before switching to another random song.

And it'd be really nice to customize the app shortcuts on the lock screen. Or have a quick volume control in the notification shade. Or have more robust/reliable notifications.

There are work around for many of these issues, but I just wish stock Android had just a few more quality of life features baked in so I didn't have to hunt down third party apps.

I'm having the reverse experience I thought I would. So far I am not impressed. The build quality is worse than my iPhone and my Note 5. I have a rattling power button which I have not had loose buttons in years from a phone and I buy a lot of phones. My Note 5 is actually faster 90% of the time! The screen is not quite as good as the Note or the iPhone 6s but it's decent. The finger print sensor is frustrating to use. I have big hands but prefer a 5" screen and when trying to find the finger sensor I have to fumble around with the phone to get my finger from the outer side of the phone to the center, it's not a natural place. Front sensors work well with my thumb front and center. I had my first app crash 10 minutes into using it. The screen notifications are so dark you cant read them unless your right on top of the screen and once you pick up the phone to look closer they are gone. The black color is more like a taupe.

I'll spend a bit more time with it tomorrow but I'm just eeehhh about it at $749. Pixel 128gb Black.

Wow. That wasn't my experience at all. I loved everything about the Pixel. The look and build were phenomenal. I would have definitely kept it if it hadn't malfunctioned. Sorry you had such a disappointing first impression of the Pixel.

Wow I have to disagree with everything here. I'm sorry this was your experience but my 32GB Pixel XL is noticeably faster than my iPhone 7 Plus was. The screen is nicer. No rattling. My 7 Plus had an annoying buzzing sound come from the back of the phone. Got a replacement and it did the same thing. Hence why I have the Pixel XL now.

I'm loving my Pixel. Is it perfect no, but it does WHAT I NEED IT TO DO!! I'm not going to lie I had nexus since 4 and I for sure thought the camera was going to be alright on the pixel. Man was I wrong the camera is excellent. The pixel is fast and I love the way it feels in hand.

Google will set the path based on how they address the BT (software), Camera (they say software but I thought it was more a mechanical issue) and notification problems(LED and AOD;software). Those are probably three of the top items used on a phone (by my unscientific pluck a thought out of the air process).

If they fix the software components quickly and correctly; then they will be fine. I have pulled my hand back from hovering over the buy for now. Lots can happen in the next few weeks and Google should realize that turning a blind eye or ignoring complaints will spell certain disaster too. Not that I have any reason to suspect they would.

I have my Note 5 sitting here so I just opened a few of the same apps and did a few tasks and the Note most of the time was faster. I was blown away!

The scrolling and touch screen sensitivity on the Pixel is miles better than the note however. The Note scrolls too fast and the touch screen is crazy sensitive, I fee like I can blow on the screen and it will respond.

Apple is the best at releasing updates to correct issues. I would hope Google would update more often in the future at least for the Pixel line.

Its what I am hoping for as that would back their position in regard to being in control of HW and SW; which is the main draw for me. Fixes should be more direct and quicker than we usually see in the Android ecosystem.

That's very interesting. I wonder why that is.

This Bluetooth issue needs to be addressed. I just put a salesman I only see once a year here at work into a Pixel XL and having problems with Bluetooth in his truck. It says it connected but it doesn't answer or make calls via bluetooth.

The phone is very smooth and battery life is amazing, but the screen is borderline inexcusable for a high end phone in 2016. There is a murky green/blue that gets much worse if you look at the screen even slightly off center, and there is a weird white aura around certain types of text (like any text in a browser) that gives me a headache. Just typing this and I'm getting a headache. I'm probably sending it back just for this reason.
