Everyone happy with Pixel so far?

I'm a note person and can't wait to get back there but will keep this xl in the meantime. I will say that, when asked by people (usually older) who want a smart phone and say that they just want it to make calls and check a few apps, I've always told them to just get an iPhone. It's not my thing, but it is reliable and simple. I will now be telling them to get a Pixel. It's also not my thing, but it's reliable and simple and I prefer to keep people away from the evil empire.

Just bought an iPhone a couple days ago. I also don't understand the whole "it's simple and just works" type of comments. There are so many areas where you have to figure out whether you should be long pressing or force touching, then there are areas you have to "peek and pop" or slide up while using force touch. Some of these features are nice, but i think there is a larger learning curve.

On top of the 3D Touch stuff, settings are also all over the place. Some in the app, some in the main settings.

Additionally, I've had more app reloads, freezes, and weird glitches than i do on my $200 Moto G4.

I'm really trying to like the iPhone for various reasons, but I'm having a hard time for the price, especially side by side my Moto G4 that seems to be almost as snappy and actually has a better screen IMO.

It's hard to justify the price when there are cheaper android phones that work just as well. I'm sure this concept can be applied to the pixels as well.

The "it just works" folks have the guy in the store set it up and never use any custom features. Eventually one of their friends who uses iPhone shows them a few things etc. Or in my wife's case she hands it to me when something doesn't work and I have to figure the damn thing out. I agree for all but the simplest things the iphone is not intuitive.

I had an iPhone 6s plus and never once could train myself to the 3D touch features. The peek and pop to me was more work than just touching the app icon!

Have that on my 6s backup device also and don't care for it, seems like another step to do. As for the "it just works" people , I've seen women mostly, using their iPhones while waiting in grocery lines that still have all the default icons on their home screens. Good thing it "just works" cause that's all they know or care. Apple fills that niche very well.

I have the Pixel in Quite Black, 128 GB. This is the best phone, even understanding everything looks good new, that I have ever had. Nothing I've had comes close to the WOW factor of the new Pixel. I came here from the LG V10.

I have to scratch my head at some of the gripes, but there is nothing out there that has everything, and there certainly nothing future proof. There is an oxymoron if I ever heard one. However this comes as close for me as I have been. I'm not a super hard user and this is far more capable of doing more things I will never do, so that issue is gone. As for boring design, there is more similarity in the way phones look, than new design concepts. Seems to me there is only so much that can be done with a rectangular screen.

I chose the Pixel in large part before I had ever seen one largely due to the OS updates and security patches. I have been with Verizon long enough to know they are incompetent as a corporation to update stuff. Seems like that forces people into a new phone which seems easier to do than get real with updates.

This is the slickest, fastest, smoothest phone I have ever seen. It seems built quality is at least on par with any of the other flagships. Would I prefer that it costs less? Yes I would, but it is no more overpriced than any other flagship, so if the Pixel is overpriced, then the conclusion is so is everything else. I'd rather it be priced here to see if Google can make a dent in Android fragmentation. I don't have a lot of experience with Nexus phones, but they were full of compromises and missing features. None I have seen (however briefly) are a Pixel.

The fingerprint scanner is marvelous. I had my V10 replaced twice due to various issues, but none of those three had a reliable fingerprint scanner. This thing is the real deal.

WiFi reception in the back of the house hoses the G3 and the V10. Signal strength for calls is very good so far.

The camera is far better than the LG G3 or the V10. That part of the market hype seems to be real.

The speaker could be louder, but I'm getting hard of hearing and it is better than either the G3 or the V10.

I could not like the Pixel Launcher, so I resorted to my old favorite, Nova.

The battery life is certainly OK with me. with up to 5 hrs on screen time, it goes all day.

I have not used bluetooth yet.

Assistant is not perfect, but it is at the point I can get used to it as it evolves and gets better.

The phone is a bit slippery, but so are most of the contemporary flagship designs. The hue and cry for premium gave us too slick phones. Too slippery but I guess they are sure premium.

The whole package presentation is great. I doubt you will be sorry if you purchased one.

Anyone else have trouble with Bluetooth in the car? When I would get text messages as soon as I connect to the car every text I had received prior to getting into the car came through whether I had checked them or not.

I know I chimed in before.... but now I have used it even more..... I think it is the best phone.... I think I even like it better than my Note 7!!!

It is fast - easy to use.... love the new app features, google assistant etc.... Only thing I wish is that you could change the icons on the Pixel launcher without loosing the long press features... :)

Battery life is fantastic!!! There are so many great things about it!!!

Getting ready to pull the trigger.

Well, I pulled the trigger and its getting delivered today. From what I'm reading in the forums, I'm wondering if I did the right thing? Other than speed and fluidity, the pixels seem quite trouble prone. Bluetooth connectivity, scratches and dents easily even in a case and not dropped, video without ois seems unsteady, and many more. Wow, I just blew a lot of moola. We'll see. Ive got a samsung galaxy S7 edge and ZTE axon 7 to compare it to. If I'm not happy. Its going back. I hope to be wrong though.

Honestly, if you purchase based on what you see in these forums, you'd never buy anything.

My perception is that the conversation here is pretty consistent with each of the other forums that I have lurked and participated in, lots of love and hate. There are a couple of trouble spots that have been pointed out -- the lens flare is real (I have only seen it when I tried to create it), the BT issue is real as well and being addressed by Google. Personally, I get some skipping in my car (annoying) but not my headphones. I have not had full blown connection issues.

Scratches, dents and drops, are real for the people they exist for, but I don't think I've seen more chatter here than other places. The Note 7 forum blew up with GG5 stories, but I carried mine with no protections for a solid month and was careless -- still nothing. You are going to find these horror stories all the time.

Your approach is good, try it for yourself, and return it if you don't like it. I hope you like it as much as I like mine, and I love mine.

TRUTH - only Rumblee1 can decide, by hands on experience, if Rumblee1 is, or isn't, going to like the Pixel.

Where has the video without ois seemed unsteady?

Switched sims on Verizon from my HTC 10, which I loved, to my Pixel and now use Pixel as my daily driver. Love the shape, weight, feel and screen. Getting a leather skin from Dbrand soon. This is a great phone. My only wish is for double tap to wake, like the HTC 10.

Double tap to wake would have been great. I really liked the look of the phone. There are many things that I miss about it.
