Evo 3D Ice Cream Sandwich update error please help!

Hi guys I have a Evo 3D and i don't have sprint service anymore but i use it as a mp3 player and to stream youtube over WiFi. I Tried updating to the new 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and i downloaded the update perfect and i click install and it reboots the phone and about 25% through the update it stops and gives me a red triangle with a exclamation point through it and the update stops? I already tried taking the phone back to factory settings multiple times and get the same error?

If anyone can help me out on this it would be greatly appreciated, really want to update to Ice Cream Sandwich......

I had the same issue with mine, and when i sent it in to my provider to have it fixed, i was informed that a '3rd party application corrupted the motherboard in the phone'

I also checked with HTC about the issue and they told me the same thing.
Im of the opinion that if you receive this error, you are hooped.

Root! And you will have no issues updating.
