Evo 3d nerves

I'd pick a htc device over a plastic samung or boring nexus any day. And I'm also sick of hearing how great webos is. Yes it looks good and has great ideas(synergy/cards) and for sure has massive potential, but it has massive amounts of bugs and the lag even on the touchpad is tremendous. They've released only a handful of apis 2 years later. webos is dead and I use it everyday.

1) HTC or Samsung, either will be a considerable leap forward in terms of build quality over the Palm Pre.

2) In the grand scheme of things, both HTC and Samsung devices are rugged enough.

3) The iPhone is the only smartphone that is noticeably more solid than any other. But you have to pay for that and many people would rather save $50 than have that kind of impeccable build quality.

HTC has the mistake called Sense, sure they recanted their statement saying the Desire will not get Gingerbread but seriously what makes us think that Sense is great if it really made HTC even have doubts. I don't think it's good at all. I like to call this"HTC fragmentation, HTC themselves are breaking their own products cycle by just forgetting about all of their products. Sure Sense is pretty and runs pretty snappy on your new device
But now consider this, next iteration of Sense comes out and runs just as snappy but on quad core, whatever happened to that performance on the dual core devices? Out might never get the update, put get a crappy update like the Evo got. HTC themselves can make a device sure, they need to stop just using Qualcomm though, because believe it or not, that's not the best processor. Regardless if your Sense device runs great with it. If HTC made the next Nexus device, I most likely would still precise it just because it's stock. Then again this is for any manufacturer. All manufacturer skins sick because or just makes the device not get the updates on time. To sum up my little rant, I don't hate HTC, I hate the fanboyism behind it. Just like Angry Birds, I enjoy the game but the people who like it go to such extreme lengths such as baking cakes or just flat out staying it's their favorite game on Android(it's not by the way). Same with HTC, people will buy the same device in different carriers like the Evo, my best example. It's just the Desire HD for all different carriers(Thunderbolt, HD2, HD7, Inspire). Or just claim that HTC devices are always superior, bull****, other manufacturers can actually make a better device, just because it's made of plastic doesn't make it crap.

This is what makes all the choices we have so great, everyone can pick what they like. You obviously like pretty weather animations, eye candy and Sprints control over your device. Others like myself prefer the newest version of Android over eye candy and dont want Sprint's NASCAR, TV etc...cluttering up our device or to have our device updated whenever Sprint decides we can have it. I really liked my Evo 4G alot once all the fixes were in place, probably the best phone I ever owned. However, sitting around on Froyo while Gingerbread had been out for a month, then 2, then 3, then 4, and wondering if I would ever see it while my friends year and a half old Nexus One ran it from day 1 made me realize I dont ever want to do that again. One of the most exciting things about Android are the frequent updates with new goodies. Updates that Sprint many times skips altogether. If I wanted only one update a year, I would own an iPhone.
