Evo 3d not until July?

Everyone may act cool about it now but when the 3D hits, everyone with an EVO will be in the stores to see it and probably buy it.

I hope the July date is wrong, as I'd like to upgrade closer to the exact one year mark that the EVO was released.

As for the 3d part of the phone, I probably won't use it that much. I've been reading that Nintendo is suffering huge rates of returns for their 3DS due to people getting ill just from a few moments of playing the games in 3D.

I'd rather not have a phone that literally makes me ill.

I agree. Even without the 3D it's still the best phone coming out in the near future IMHO.

I agree, but I'm not getting it because of the 3D, I think it will be cool to use it every once in a while... I'm going for the horse power under the hood :p

The Sidekick 4g and the LG G2X were announced just last month and are coming out at the end of this month. With the EVO3D just being announced last month how far behind can it be? Is it normal for a phone to be announced one month and be released the following month?

It depends on the carrier. Sometimes you don't hear about a phone til 3 days before it comes out. Also, Sprint wants as much attention on this phone as possible so the announced it early to build momentum (especially with everything coming out in the mean time). They did the same thing with the Pre, and the OG EVO.

Which were some of the most successful phones ever, let that be a clue to how great the evo 3D will be :D

Ha I saw the 3ds in person and I can see people getting sick of the 3d. Don't see myself using the 3d option very much but if it's good, once in a while will be nice. It's definitely a beast of a phone and had to upgrade to it unless another phone comes out.

I thought the phone was always 3d, no 2d switch for the display?

I would hope that sprint sticks to its normal release pattern, which should mean around june/july...

That being said the units we saw at its debut were still buggy... ( and/or their handlers were untrained ).

I rather have a fully functioning, nearly bug free device, than a early release date... IMHO

Agreed.

I think it knows what's supposed to be displayed in 3D and automatically switches over. So if it's 2D content it displays in 2D. If it's 3D content it'll switch to 3D. At least that's what it did in some of the hands-on videos I watched.

They said nothing about Sense being 3D, either.

I'm buying it mostly because I want a 3D phone, also I'm sticking with the EVO family.

I don't see how having a 3d feature can possible make a person ill - with that being said, I'm looking forward to have this bad boy in my collection of overstocked gadgets.

The launch date of the EVO 3D in my opinion will definitely be between June and July. I'm quite sure the updated (specs) will be a (booster) for thousands of OG EVO owners to upgrade to such an awesome device.

IMO opinion I think the release of Iphone 5 being pushed back until September will have an affect on when the EVO 3d will be released.

I think Sprint will wait a little longer and go with a July release.

If you remember last year Sprint released the Evo exactly 3 weeks before the Iphone 4.

I am going to be the first in line to get it. My first ever Android phone. But no more than $250 w a 2 yr contract though.

I dont know how you come to the $450 off contract conclusion. The first Evo itself cost more than that. I think it was $549 day one.

Sprint sold the EVO on release day for $450 off contract. Best Buy, I'm not sure about any other retailers, sold it for $600 off contract.

You may read about phones, but most are lazy and answer "I don't know" to all my questions.

Man, someone from HP should see this, all of these original Pre owners ready to leave Web OS and jump to Android.
I'm using my original launch day Pre with a chunk of plastic missing at the USB port with a crack on the screen.
I wanted a Web OS EVO style phone with 4G on Sprint but there is no news from Sprint if they're getting the Pre3, much less if it's going to be 4G.
So, looks like I'm going to hang in for the Evo 3D.

I was a original pre user,, so glad I made the jump 7 months ago, love the evo and I am totally satisfied with it until when ever evo 3d comes out.

i think sprint will release it as soon as it's ready regardless of iphone date.
