Everyone may act cool about it now but when the 3D hits, everyone with an EVO will be in the stores to see it and probably buy it.
I hope the July date is wrong, as I'd like to upgrade closer to the exact one year mark that the EVO was released.
As for the 3d part of the phone, I probably won't use it that much. I've been reading that Nintendo is suffering huge rates of returns for their 3DS due to people getting ill just from a few moments of playing the games in 3D.
I'd rather not have a phone that literally makes me ill.

It depends on the carrier. Sometimes you don't hear about a phone til 3 days before it comes out. Also, Sprint wants as much attention on this phone as possible so the announced it early to build momentum (especially with everything coming out in the mean time). They did the same thing with the Pre, and the OG EVO.
"I agree, but I'm not getting it because of the 3D, I think it will be cool to use it every once in a while"
I thought the phone was always 3d, no 2d switch for the display?
I would hope that sprint sticks to its normal release pattern, which should mean around june/july...
That being said the units we saw at its debut were still buggy... ( and/or their handlers were untrained ).
I rather have a fully functioning, nearly bug free device, than a early release date... IMHO
June 5th, $450 off-contract. Bet on it.
I dont know how you come to the $450 off contract conclusion. The first Evo itself cost more than that. I think it was $549 day one.
Man, someone from HP should see this, all of these original Pre owners ready to leave Web OS and jump to Android.
I'm using my original launch day Pre with a chunk of plastic missing at the USB port with a crack on the screen.
I wanted a Web OS EVO style phone with 4G on Sprint but there is no news from Sprint if they're getting the Pre3, much less if it's going to be 4G.
So, looks like I'm going to hang in for the Evo 3D.
IMO opinion I think the release of Iphone 5 being pushed back until September will have an affect on when the EVO 3d will be released.
I think Sprint will wait a little longer and go with a July release.
If you remember last year Sprint released the Evo exactly 3 weeks before the Iphone 4.
Yeah, habing that the thunderbot out sold the version iphone I think sprint is going to start timing relesses before other androids more effecitly.i think sprint will release it as soon as it's ready regardless of iphone date.
