Evo 3D Software Update August 18

Re: update is available

Is it just me or did the color of the download status bar in the status bar pull down change colors to red? I swear it used to be green like it is in the market.

Re: update is available

Updating now...

Does anyone know if it fixes the issue with the disappearing keyboard in the stock messaging app?

I think HTC does a great job on support and software updates!

Wow so HTC actually put in native screenshots???? That's crazy. Im rooted and rom'd and just got this feature a few days ago. Glad to see HTC is on top of their game....

sad we're praising this. it really is google's fault for not having this back when android was first released.

Re: update is available

More "uninstallable" crapware. What can I get rid of? Please let it be nascar!!!!!!

Re: update is available

Wow I'm amazed that not one person has mentioned the fact that this update included the latest build of gingerbread 2.3.4. I don't know about you guys but bug fixes aside I am very excited about this. :)

Re: update is available

My update took without an issue! Seems faster to me. Then again I just got it. :D

Re: update is available

Um... This new update will not let me uninstall ANY of the preloaded apps.
I call BS!

Re: update is available

Does anyone know if the snooze issue has been resolved? Every time I snooze from the lock screen the reminder never comes back.

Hoping this is resolved.

Thanks

I just use the power button to snooze the alarm. Works great prior to the update! Hope it still works after the update. Just got the notification, so I'll be kicking the update off in just a few minutes.

Not sure if this is something new due to the update or not, but Netflix is now available via the Market. I know when I first got the 3D it was not available, so I'm not sure at what point the 3D was added to the supported list. But, it's there now!

Re: update is available

Gallery app now smartly displays the most recent pics first (starts at the bottom of the list of thumbnails). Before, it would always start at the top, displaying your oldest pics first. Nice. UPDATE: Except if you open up from lock screen, it defaults to the top (old pics).

That's odd. Mine is still the oldest at the top regardless of which method I enter from. I can't find any setting to change that either.

Re: update is available

You were able to uninstall Nascar since day one...

The new apps that are able to be uninstalled are Green Hornet, Spiderman and 3D games.
My bad. I was only looking at "down loaded" apps, instead of "all". Nascar b gone. Blockbuster... Buh bye.

Same here. I've been using QuickPic. It will let you sort by date/name ascending/descending. I prefer the layout when looking at all photos at once as well.

might of skipped this answer but is this update just for the sprint version of the evo 3d or does this apply to the Canadian evo 3d as well.

And the bootloader unlock from HTCdev is now live with this new version. Figured that would follow shortly after this release. So, now do I go the official route and screw my warranty or the unofficial route and maybe screw my warranty... Decisions, decisions. :)

My phone updated for 15 minutes with graphics on the screen and now it seems like it is powered off for another 15 minutes afterwards. Is it supposed to restart by itself after the update is finished? I'm just afraid to hold down the power button while it might be still updating, and stop the update midway through. Sorry for the newbie question. I'm new to android and don't want to possibly brick my new phone. Thanks in advance.
