EVO 3D Support Group For Palm webOS Users

I was actually GIVEN a Pre 2. Long story about how, but the build quality is fantastic, smooth and solid. It's fast as hell and WebOS is just incredible on the improved hardware.

But I still long for a larger screen and decent apps. For instance, the best workout logging apps in my Pre's App catalog have serious flaws and cost $5.

I've bought myself some time, I think I'll wait a bit to see how the Pre 3 stacks up. But I have very little desire to switch from Sprint, and am pretty perturbed with HP for how they've treated their best customers. I might be joining you guys soon...

Just dumped my Pre today and now have the Evo 3D. I feel lost trying to learn this OS. Anyone have any recomendations on where to start? Im trying to soak up all the Intel i can get my hands on.

Click on "Getting Started" at the top of the page. :D

Switched yesterday... Took me all day to get the phone where I wanted it. Even have working Netflix and Skype with video working. My son now uses the Pre- to play the games I had and to listen to music.

Re: So what do you Palm Pre converts think about the EVO3D so far

While I have not switched I have been watching the forums in the EVO 3D. I must say it looks like alot of people enjoy! I have not jump ship on WebOS yet! I think in the end even if I did get an EVO 3D I would still get a WebOS phone to have around also!
I am also still holding out, one of those rabid diehard WebOS fans. Also had my Pre since launch day. I am sitting on the fence at this point, may not hold out much longer. The hardware for the 3D is extremely fantastic. I really like the micro-sd card slot. If there was a WebOS phone with the 3D's specs, it would be a killer. I have a lot to think about.

Check out the EVO 3D Support Group For Palm webOS Users.

Why not get the EVO 3D with the goal of trying it for 30 days to see what you think?

If you like it, keep it. If not, return it.

Either way you will have had a great month exploring a new phone and operating system.

Phones are like shoes. No one else can tell you how they will feel to you.

Also at this point, HP has given no release dates for any country for the Pre 3. The rumors are all about AT&T getting the Pre 3 first and probably an exclusive because they were willing to take the Veer. Then after that exclusive, Verizon is rumored to get it. There are also rumors that because the Pre 3 is a smaller display, HP may focus on countries like France that still buy small screens.

I think I am going to take the plunge today! I am a day 2 pre- owner and really love webos but my phone is dying and the replacements have been even worse! I feel a little better about going Android after reading this thread and will definitely be combing through it to get suggestions!

My wife and I are both Day 1 Pre- owners. I think this is the week we are going to make the switch. I just don't see any hope right now of Pre 3 or any other webos device on Sprint any time soon. Our Pre- phones are getting more and more little issues and stability problems. Just in the last 2 days my phone now freaks out and does weird stuff if I engage the silent switch.

I had my sister and brother in law on the Pre, and they made the jump to Android phones a few months ago. I have some other family members that have been on webos since it came out, and they along with me are probably going to jump to Android. I don't want to leave Sprint, other wise I would probably go elsewhere when the Pre3 hits. But the 3D sure looks tempting so that is where I'm going.

I hope to get as much out of androidcentral.com as I have out of precentral.net

Besides myself, my wife was also a day one Pre user, but she picked up a Nexus S 4G yesterday. The screen on the Nexus is better, and according to a side by side review I saw, and it is a little faster (surprising considering the 3D has a dual core). I am also considering the Samsung G2, and the Nexus prime (both not out). Maybe the Android Power users can help point me in the right direction. Thanks

Ok, webOS-Android converts, what about a replacement for the awesome webOS app Neato?? Is there such a thing? Really want to send stuff to the phone without resorting to email....

webOS roadmap just leaked, Pre 3 coming earliest Fall, time to make the switch ladies and gentleman
I'm giving it 2 weeks, then, if there is STILL no signs of a Pre3 coming to Sprint, I'm picking up the Evo 3D

Really going to miss using my 4 touchstones, but realized, by reading here, I can still use the Pre via WiFi and as a mp3 player.

Hmmm, on 2nd thought 2 weeks might be too long to wait..... ;-)

Just had my Evo 3d killed by Palm's Pre charging adapters.

If you switch, you MUST THROW OUT your Palm Pre Charging adapters, they have a different ampage or voltage than what the Evo 3d requires!!!

My wife and I got our EVO 3Ds yesterday (after over 2 years on launch-day pre-). So far there are many little things we miss, but this forum is making things easier.

EDIT: As to the charger, that's ridiculous, both the Pre and evo 3D chargers put out 5volts and 1amp... Not sure what happened to your phone, but it wasn't the charger.

I know but the Pre3 specs are a joke if you ask me. Apart from being a bit more responsive and an additional camera, it's the same as my pre- with webOS 2.1.0.

Can anyone confirm this? I have a couple of pre chargers that I use to charge my 3d and I haven't had any issues so far.

I also have been using Palm chargers half the time and no issues that I know of.

I hate to bring up Universal Search again, but forgive me as I read the other replies and am still a bit confused. When I hit search I get that I can add apps to search with and the default is "all" but every time I search it does google unless I manually pick another search.

On WebOS the list of searchable items was right below the search bar, so you could click "wikipedia" and it would immediately go there. Now I have to select the "G" icon, switch what to search and still hit enter or click serach. I know it's only two extra clicks but I do so many searches a day it really drives me batty.

So I guess I'm asking if there's a better way that involves less touches.

PS - Someone tell me a good dictionary app, dictionary.com doesn't add to search listing.
