EVO 3D Swype?

On this video at 10:23 he's using this Swype keyboard but it's integrated into the regular one? I don't have that option on my EVO 3D and if it is the new Swype 3.0 how do I get it?

I don't have my 3vo Yet, but I believe you turn it on under keyboard settings.

That's called Trace. You can turn it on in the Language and Keyboard settings. Go to Touch Input, then Trace Keyboard and turn it on there if you want.

Trying it out now. Seems good. I had to turn off the vibration though. It was annoying.

Funny, I turned that on when I first got the phone and tried the swype gesture and it didnt work. I just tried it again after reading this post and it worked flawlessly. Weird.:-!

It seems to me,so far,that the swype only works in certain text entry situations,like messaging,and doesn't work on search entries or internet url bar.

long tap any text entry era, and it will bring up the input method. you can select swype from there

he's talking about when the reviewer swypes on the regular htc keyboard, which is the feature called "trace"..

i had no idea this was even an option, but i'm thinking i still like swype better.. still cool they have it though

Had swype on the epic, new to the evo. I couldn't find the swype keyboard as an option in, settings, keyboard and language, so I thought the trace keyboard was it. I ran through the tutorial to see if it was different from the epic version of swype (which it wasn't) and now my keyboard is defaulting to the swype keyboard. Very happy now!

I wasn't too keen on trying the swype keyboard, but now, after doing the update, I read so many folks talking about it and decided to try it. I actually like it. Pretty cool. I have HTC EVO 3D.

yes you can long press in a text area to chose what keyboard you want to use. you also can turn on "trace" if you want to use the hTc keyboard.

but for just quick texts, I personaly use the speach to text input method. it's far better then trying to use this in the past, and faster (for me) then using swipe or tap.
