EVO 4G unmounts sd card when hooked up to car charger

my evo unmounts the sd card when i hook it up to my car charger. i noticed this ever since i updated to 2.2. anyone else have this problem? it is irritating. i want to listen to my podcasts and charge my phone while driving and cant since the sd card unmounts. any ideas. is it an issue with 2.2. or am i just doing something that i wasnt doing before.
