EVO camera res?

i havent yet got my hands on a evo yet but im still hanging in there but i have a quick question that has probly been answerd but, is there a app that i can change the res for the camera to 1920x1080? not to record video just to take pics? the only reason i want it to at that res is if i see something cool i can take a pic and use it for my alienware m17x or my desktop.

Why don't you take it at full res, and then just crop and resize it to your desktop?

yeah that can work too but ive done it before one my friends iphone(evo has better picture too) and it was fine but made it look wide for some reason

That's because you probably resized it without cropping. 1920x1080 = 16:9 ratio. The iPhone and the EVO do not take photos at that ratio, thus you have to crop (remove) part of the picture to make it 16:9. Or you stretch it, which makes things look skinny or fat.

If you're cropping a picture to a certain size, it will be that size. If you resize it but don't keep the x and y proportional, you'll distort it.

You'll probably end up using a two step process to get to what you want.
