Evo HDMI out mirroring?

I don't think that your issue is with the TV, because you are getting the slideshow. I do have a TV that can't get anything from the Evo, and never could.

I would bet it is still in the kernel. You could do a nandroid backup, then start completely over. Wipe everything, then put on the rom you want to use, and flash the zip. But I wouldn't restore anything else. Don't use titanium or anything else, and then test from there. If it works, you know it's something in the install. If it doesn't, you may have a bigger problem.

The developer uses fresh, and I have it confirmed working on Ava, so you may want to try one of those.
Well I figured it out.
I thought HDMI zip contained app which it doesn't so basically I wasted time flashing/re-flashing roms trying to get it to work lol

I did one more video of the app in it's current state. This was testing the ability to play an .avi file using one of the media players that supports this codec.

Natively, the Evo can't handle this file type, which means that without Orrebmas, we could never have done this.

This video is VERY MUCH a work in progress. I am still using his Alpha version. The developer has said that there is a BIG update on the horizon. I was pleased with this performance, but I am sure the next update will be huge. To do this, I actually turned my camera sideways, because the frame rate is better in portrait than landscape.

I am also very certain that once he feels confident in the app, he will do a public beta, or a full release.

Rest assured that the app in it's current state is good, but not quite everyday use good. Everyone is so patient and supportive, and it will pay off. Orrebmas is motivated by support from everyone here, in XDA, and anywhere else where people have spent the past 9 months hoping for this to come true.

Again this is just a small progress update, nothing on this video really showcases what orrebmas actually has planned for the app.

Great video bro!! trying to set mine up tonight. what does Google Maps look like have you tried that app? Once im up and running i plan to test in my truck i have a front row LCD screen and a second row LCD screen and installing video out hook ups so i could see my phone on my screens.

1. slingbox in my car for music and live tv on the go through my car's tv system(for passangers only!) <<-this is the main reason im so excited about this.?

How are you able to get this to work with car tv screens?
I want this so bad dl I can user my favorite app torque

Hey sling long time no talk. To make this work you need the apk and kernel. New you tube video to follow.

Best,
JP
Hey buddy
Ya lack of sleep loging into thread finding zip posted I thought it was public beta.
In PM with orrebmas discussing issue being had he thought I had apk & was on test team.
I took a lookse in zip no apk to be found which woke me up.
Anyway It was a fun 1/2 beta my deceive got a few wipes new rom installs lol

hey, well my plan is to use an hdmi to composite converter because my car only accepts RCA(composite) input. Have hdmi from phone to this, then this to my car's input. Resolutionwise, my screens in my car are 800x480 resolution, so having high def from my evo really isnt an option.

Then, i have to be creative with my power supply (lots of interference for some reason if i use the ac to dc inverter in my car with the hdmi converter above). My solution is to convert my car's 12v to 5v dc using the innards of an old cigarette lighter to usb adapter (the usb has 5v output). alternatively, you could take an easier approach and buy a dc regulator like on this page, which might be cleaner to install and maintain.

Multi Level DC-DC Regulated Adapter ( 1.5V-12V) with Switch and 100-240V worldwide AC to 12V DC converter

The way i have this set up now, is that i have the hdmi converter and the power supply mounted behind my dashboard and already hooked up to power and inputs of my stereo. It turns on and off with the car, which was easy to achieve by tapping into one of the "ignition 12v" wires already feeding my stereo. this prevents battery drain.

My only hurdle now is figuring out the best mounting solution that would allow easy (clip in/out) access and hold securely (apparently the hdmi is temperamental on this phone).

As soon as my next rounds of exams comes up in 2 weeks, im going to spend the weekend designing some sort of car mount that will do all that and also have usb power to also charge the phone as it will be a busy little bastard.

again, this is to feed the tv's in my back seats and to allow for easy streaming of online radio without having to fiddle around with a stupid 3.5mm headphone jack. NOT FOR TV WHILE DRIVING! although totally possible if your stereo is set up so, it is not my intention to drive off a bridge while watching episodes of archer. All connections will be on the bottom part of the phone and i wont have to spend 10 seconds getting the damn thing set up each time i get in my car(it doesnt sound like alot of time, but its enough to deter me from using my phone like this).

thanks for the read, sorry for the long post! (also, the day i get the fullhdmi app, i will do my best to get a video on youtube of the entire set up).

Thank you, sir. However, I just got the files pushed by placing them on my SD card and then then copying them into the right path from there. It took me a bit to figure it out, but I overcame my noobness. lol

I still gave you your well-deserved thanks, though.

which file did you place in the correct path? "/system/lib/modules"

do any of the current testers have input on the supported hdmi resolutions in this app?

thanks!!

Edit: EXCELLENT VIDEO ABOVE!!!! and yes, i will finally be watching non-crap tv at my gf's!!! woo! :)

I just tested it out the options i have is automatic, 480 720. I have 3 old HD TV's a 32"720P 19"720P and a 42"1080I(Yes i still have my 1080I PLASMA kicking strong:p) MY 32" output is 1280x720 at 60Hz. Some of the screen is cut off on both landscape and portrait mode. Mostly smooth and quick im using Fresh ROM, i got the most flicker on MAPS out of all apps putting the FPS to the test!! It did not look anything like the above video and I hope i can get that update soon....that looked awesome! I hope that answered your question or helped.

The app currently supports 720, but I am working on custom resolutions support with pan and zoom. This should fix the problem with screen edges clipped off on some screens.

For Artlan I used your flashable zip and worked great no issues. Great work to all involved here EVO has some new legs!!

So I got the pm from obrrebmas in xda that beta testers will get hdmi output from here. Is he going to post the apk or file in the thread or is it going to be sent in a pm? Just want to be prepared, been waiting to get my hands on this.

I just sent the alpha testers another release with more features. Once all features desired are in, we move to beta.
I sent you guys (beta tester pool) an email because if you get to participate in testing, you will need to be on this forum for reporting and sharing testing observations.
I can't think of any more features to add right now, if this passes the alpha testers quality control, and no more suggestions for features, we go straight to beta.
