You probably won't need it but PM me If you need any type of music theme, on/off sounds or fx's. I've been doing movie scores and producing music for about 10 yrs now.

Hey man, I finally got my cable and got to test it this afternoon. Nice job.

A few observations.
I think a kernel with overclocking support might help. Even with not much running it's hammering the processor. I think just being able to go to 1.1 would help a bunch. That's the only lag I saw was when the processor pegged to 100 and that was very little.
I already knew about the problem when trying to go to a program that tries to use the hdmi and i tried it by mistake. It does wreak havoc. Maybe some code that checks for a request for the stock video player and lets it have the hdmi.
I had to fiddle with it a bit to get it to work as was reported by someone else.
This is ready for anyone that knows their phone well. The beginner user might have a bit of trouble with it.

It's a damn solid piece of work and really just needs minimal tweaks. I never ran in software mode. I'll try that later.
BTW I was running the stock 3.70 rom.

Were you in "SuperCharge" mode? This mode basically spins more cycles mirroring, as much as it can. It gives me upwards of 40 fps playing "Raging Thunder 2" (3-D racing game, fast paced graphics). Side effects of this mode however include higher cpu usage and possibly more flickering. These reasons are why this mode can be toggled.

Its not really a program that tried to access HDMI, its a program that demands all the video memory and doesnt exit if it couldnt have it. YouTube uses HDMI and if you have the service enabled you will get the phone screen overlayed on the video on your TV, with flickering due to two programs driving the HDMI output. Things go south with Gallery video player only, at least from what I observed.

Can you please list what happened when you first started the app, and what you had to do to get it working?
This is one of the reasons I need to add better user reporting to the app. If it fails for any reason we dont know why yet.

Yep, I was in supercharge mode.

When I first started the app I never tried it in software mode. I clicked start the service. I was prompted for root access 3 times back to back. I got nothing on the screen. it said the service was running and the cable connected. I rebooted the phone. The thinking being maybe it was from the kernel flash. It still didn't work , hit the supercharge button, no go, turned supercharge off, screen popped on. turned SC back on screen flickered and came back on.
From this point i ran angry birds, nice smooth video and audio. tried a vid from youtube, all i saw was lines on the screen. exited youtube, hdmi was off. went back into the app, restarted service, it started right back up.

Thanks for detailed feedback baknblack. We will sort these out before beta. I have a few ideas why the service fails silently and requires a "Stop" then "Start" again and will be looking into it this weekend.

My setup is XRES 1200 YRES 600 landscape hardware rendering on and super charge on a 32" Insignia LCD 720P. I just tried You tube and got major flickering on loading and when the video stated to play my phone went blank and TV screen would jump back and forth from You tube main menu and the video playing. I backed out of the app and went back in and played same video and my TV flickered a bit and went to white snow, i checked the HDMI app and its still on. I toggled the compatibility and all is well. Right now for me You tube is the only app that does not work for me.

If you would like to be considered for beta testing, instead of posting on the thread please PM me with the following:
- Subject line has to say: "FullHDMI beta tester: yourgoogleaccnt@gmail.com"
- List any info on the TV you have like frequency/supported res..
- If you have a special scenario (or idea) for testing please include that also.

Please follow the described format as it will make it easier for me to parse through the PMs and select candidates.

HEY !!!!!! People please read the above quoted post as Sam has asked for people wishing to be beta tester canidates .....

Been following first post x d a. Since I don't have enough posts here.....

Rican408@gmail.com

I have multiple TVs all run 1080p with many frequencys.

57" Mitsubishi. Dlp
27" olevia
65" Sony

May even test on customers TVs
I work for Comcast.
I'm driving right now so please forgive me if I forgot anything

There are tons of interesting threads to read and respond in around this forum... although I believe this thread has everone waiting with bated breath...I have worn out the F5 button on my laptop and I think I have crashed Comcast and Google's servers at least a few times a day checking to see if I have made the testers list ...Ha....Ha...

I finally got a chance to test out all the new features (hardware rendering, SuperCharge Mode) and I have to say that this has come a long way from the original V1.0 release! Very smooth on all the main screen menus and improving a lot with apps that require large amounts of Video use. I ran a NenaMark with very little glitches and final result was 14.7 fps on stock 998 MHz. Also I played the game GUN BROS and it was really good, using the phone as a controller and watching the TV screen. I will have to make a vid of that tomorrow...
