EVO Hotspot question

Now that the phone has been out a few weeks. Has anyone called sprint to enable the hotspot feature mid month? How is Sprint handling this? Can you call and enable/disable the feature on the fly? I don't need the hotspot full time, but the few times a year I travel it would be great. Thanks.

You'll be able to enable it one month at a time and turn it off the next, once you turn it on, it's on for the remainder if the billing cycle.

Can you do it directly from the phone? I tried turning it on but couldn't get it to work. Now I'm wondering if I'll be charged even though I never used it.
 
Do you know if they pro-rate the 30 for the current billing cycle or do you get hit for the full 30 even if its only a week till the end of your cycle? Thanks.

I used mine for about 15 minutes just to see if it worked. It did and it was pretty darn fast. According the the manager at the Sprint store they can tell if you are using it and could possibly turn off your phone if you over do it. I just wish it was a little cheaper. I can't justify the $30 per month.
