Okay so, this may be a confusing post. But I'll try to explain as best I can.
I switch phones. A LOT. I usually have a different phone every 3-4 months. My first REAL smart-phone (not a dumb smart-phone) was a HTC Hero. I guess you can say my very first "smart" phone was a Moto Q (if you wanna consider it smart lol).
Anyways, I loved Android. I still like it. Kinda fell off for me when the iPhone 4S came out on Sprint, which I got in February of 2012, and in February of this year I got the iPhone 5. Within that time frame I often switched to Android devices (mainly the Evo 3D, Design 4G, and GS2) but it didn't last very long. At most 2 weeks and then I went back to my iPhone.
Well, I'm tired of my iPhone. I love iOS but I like it better on the iPad for some reason. So, I'm looking to get back into Android. I'm not a Samsung fan (because of the Super AMOLED screen, hate the color saturation) and most Android phones I ever owned were HTC devices (HTC Hero, HTC Evo, HTC Evo 3d (for about 3 days), HTC Evo Design 4G (for about 2 weeks). I had a short affair with the original Galaxy Epic 4G back in 2011 because I wanted the keyboard and the GS2 in 2012 for a few days. There were moments where I played with others such as the Phonton 4G, GS3 (mothers phone), etc.

Well, my upgrade is actually tomorrow (April 1st) and none of the phones I'm interested in are out yet (the HTC One and Blackberry Q10). So, I'm looking to sell my iPhone 5 on Craigslist and purchase a Evo LTE cheap until the HTC One or Q10 is released on Sprint. Question is, should I go ahead and do that, or should I just wait for the HTC One to come out?
I've read plenty of user reviews in the forums about the Evo LTE. I personally have never had an issue with an HTC device, so I was wondering if anybody can give me some insight on how the Evo LTE is holding up now that it's going on almost a year since it's release. Any insight would be great! Thanks.

I would just wait for the one. Unless you can get an evo for $100

Ill be honest i was thinking about upgrading but i've decided to stick with the evo over the one for a few reasons. first being wow factor, the one (along with s4) failed to wow me like the OG Evo and LTE did. anyway i decided to stick with the LTE for a number of reasons that just said its not worth the update, the ultrapixel sounds nice but the pictures i capture with the LTE are down right amazing, the battery 2100 vs 2300 nice boost but that'll get you what maybe an extra 1-2 hours?. one thing thats not much of a big deal is SD vs No SD, its nice to have an SD dont think im ready to give it up just yet. now using sense 5 on the evo(which the LTE is getting officially , supposed to be the last "Major" upgrade for it) the phone is smoother and faster then before (and to think it's a beta rom huh) so in my opinion the evo is just as good as the One, of course you get some great things with the one like a boost in battery (200 mAh's) a upgraded camera sensor and updated ram (2 gig instead of 1). i guess it really comes down to the question if you need the leastest phone and dont care about SD card (*Cough* Sammmy fan boys *Cough*) then choose the One if you dont need the leastest or really want a SD slot or just want an amazing phone but dont want to cough up 200 (guessing thats how much the one'll be w/ a new contract) the Evo Lte is no let down, as for me ill wait fot the Htc 2:cool:

I'm really thinking the same thing. My lte has been a fantastic phone so far. I was all for the One and was ready to pay full price for it but now the rumors about 32 gigs of storage only for Sprint... My evo lte has a physical camera button, kickstand, more storage via sd card and the build quality is really great.

Don't get me wrong I think the 1 is going to be a great phone but this time I will not pre order like I've done with my last 3 HTC phones. It's going to have to impress me a lot to upgrade from my already great HTC evo LTE

I would say get the "one". My biggest gripe /concern with it is basically that it is an htc phone, but you've got a good history with htc and you like it so should be no problems there. And if you don't already have the EVO then the better screen, sense 5 and doubled ram I think are more than enough reason to wait. Especially the ram

My thinking is this:

I really like the EVO LTE. The main thing, (other than considering jumping back to BB) is removable storage. If the One had it I would consider it. Sadly it doesn't and that's a real deal breaker for me. That might not matter to you, but I refuse to put that much stock in cloud storage. I use it as a backup, not as my source for what I would normally store on a phone.

I have the Evo LTE and I am for sure getting the One. What I would say is if you are switching phones that often, chances are it doesn't matter what you do, because you will likely just get the other phone if you are not happy with the one you have. I LOVE Sense 5 and am super stoked for it to come to the Evo, but that may be 2-3 months. I guess I would wait for the One, and if you don't like it because of the lack of removable storage or kickstand or whatever else people are saying here, then you will be able to buy an Evo for presumably less money and hopefully the software upgrade.

I just jumped off the evo lte ship and reactivated me ol OG evo. And sold the lte back to sprint (sprintbuyback) and its worth $94 ! Sell,Sell, SELL ! I will probably get the SG4 or the One, dunno yet. It gonna cost big $ to do so, sprint told me if i wish to upgrade to a different phone as of right now i would have to pay $275 to redo contract + the price of whatever phone :( .

I wanted to get rid of my evo lte and get something different so I sold mine back to best buy (200 something bucks through the old buyback program) and then canceled my sprint service and got att. That way I got the new phone a lot cheaper than outright and it got me back on att and off sprint. I know everyone's situation is different but just letting you know what I did and how it worked

Eh, I don't really care for SD Card slots lol. 32gigs is more than enough for me. But from what you've said, the LTE seems like a pretty good phone for now.
The One looks amazing, but I'm still trying to decide if I wanna stay with Sprint or go to AT&T anyways lol. I think I'll just get the LTE and sell my iPhone 5.
