EVO or Hero

I use a Hero. I'm also pretty vocal when it comes to complaining about things :D

For use as a phone and messaging device, the Hero is great. I love the form factor and the size, and until/if Sprint ever gets around to releasing the Legend, I'll stick with it for daily use.

But for fun/games/tweaking/media experience, I'm moving on up like George Jefferson.

YAY, good to hear :)

At this point I wouldn't consider anything less than a 1GHz Snapdragon phone, both for Flash support and overall performance. I can wait another 6 or 7 weeks for the Evo, or even the N1, to hit Sprint.

I agree. I actaully have 2 lines with sprint so if the Nexus one is released before the Evo I will buy that on one of my lines and wait for the Evo for the other.

I am really surprised that this question was even asked, to be honest. The Evo is competing with phones like the next generation iPhone and future high end phones. The only reason to buy a Hero is if you needed a phone today.

The Evo will most likely be priced at $200 ($300 with $100 MIR) just like all high end smart phones that hit the market today. I wouldnt expect any more or less.

im not positive but im sure when the evo comes out its going to be 299-349 +tax at sprint

What makes you say this? Every bit of information I've seen about pricing, while not official, points the price to $299 - $100 MIR bringing it down to $199. If Sprint has any sense this phone won't cost more than $199. That's what an iPhone costs, it's about what a Nexus One costs, and it's what the Incredible costs. I get that it will be the biggest and baddest phone on the block and will be the only with 4G, but if Sprint wants price the EVO "aggressively" as they state, they should keep it to $199.

+1. I doubt it will cost any more than $249, at most.

im in the same boat as you, listen the truth of the matter is when we got the pre we were riding the ship of high hopes and really hoping PALM pulls through and the pre will be Gods gift to the world, a year later PALM is on one leg and we don't know how much longer it'll stand, lets not take anything from PALM the pre was a great piece of engineering and it was good while it lasted but KAMAN, the 4G is just so baller not to want it

I also currently have a Pre and I too am becoming impatient. But I am just gonna wait it out until the Evo is available. I am not eligible for an upgrade until August so it will be a loooooong wait for me.
