EVO update 3.70.651.1 NOT

I'm trying to install this update with Fred's method, but I don't know what to do once I get to the bootloader screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey, welcome to AC!

That file is now out dated (lol, even though it's brand new!). If you're nand unlocked I would just install the latest version via rom manager.

Aww geez...I didn't know that it was outdated...

I was wondering why nothing was happening. I ended up clearing all data from the bootloader screen because I thought that's what "wiping" meant. Looks like I was wrong and I have to re-install everything that I had. Oh well...you live and you learn.

How can I tell if my nand is unlocked? I rooted with unrEVOked about a month ago.

Welcome to AC! There are two parts to what most people refer to as "root" - S-OFF is a security toggle that lets people flash custom ROMs and having a rooted rom installed gives the user super user access to the phone.

Here's what you need to do, first find out if you're S-OFF:

power off the phone, press the volume down button and power button at the same time until a white screen loads. the top of the screen will say either s-on or s-off. (just select reboot to reboot normally from here)

To find out if you're running a rooted ROM:

Get terminal emulator from the market (if it's already installed on your phone you're most likely rooted, but check anyway) - open it up and type "su" if you see a "#" prompt, you're rooted, if it says permission denied, you're not rooted.

If you're s-off and get the #, you're fully rooted.
