Got the update on my stock Evo, update went off without a hitch. Still don't have the new version of the Market though??? Guess it will get here when it get's here, no hurry on my part. I'm just glad I didn't have to RE-apply all ,y patches after the update like I would have had to do on my Pre.

As for the keyboard, I have been using Ultra Keyboard and loving it. Guess I will have to give Swype a try. They are very similar as far as my first look of Swype has been.

But, no issues on update for me and no patch reapplications...WoHo!

Anyone who is rooted, have you gotten the OTA update?
If so, did it remove your Root?
Can you re-root using UnrEVOked or other such Root app yet?

It doesn't matter how you got it on the phone. The script in that download is comparing the version numbers on your device to the ones it can update. The patch that was on the server is only for those two versions mentioned before, not the third version which seems to be fairly common. So, I'm afraid you either wait for the OTA or a leak of a second downloadable patch.

I am rooted but I am NOT going to install the OTA. As I understand it this update contains a new HBoot, and given all the issues that exist with rooting 2.02, I can only imagine what will happen with the newest HBoot. So if you are rooted I definitely would not accept the OTA, or even if you are not rooted and thinking about rooting soon, then I still would not accept it. My two cents.....

I just did the upgrade via system updates. But I cant for the life of me find Swype? I go into settings,/Lang&Keybrd touch input and All I have is QWERTY/Phone keypad/compact QWERTY? anyone else missing this or is it just me?

The rooted OTA is out and will not break your root. Also if you use unrevoked it will change hboot to keep root forever.

Ok dumb question, if you do the update and you dont want the swype with the update and just want to keep beta, can you uninstall the swype that comes with the update?

I just installed the update and now I am having problems with audio streaming. I was listening to streaming audio via shoutcast prior to the update and it was working clear and fine. After the update, went back to the same shoutcast station and there are all kinds of interference and "bubbly" noises going on. I've tried a few different apps and different stations, all with the same result. Anybody else having problems like that?
