excessive battery drain?

I'm rooted and currently running Liquid Nonsense with included imoseyon 5.1 kernel. Liquid Nonsense is supposed to be an extremely stripped down version of Sense to keep it lean and minimize processes that run in the background.

I also have the Rezound battery which does seem to give me better battery life than the stock battery but based on what others on these forums are experiencing with their battery life, I think mine is draining excessively.

Check out the attached screenshot of my battery usage. You'll notice that it was in airplane mode for the first half. When I took it out of airplane mode, I left it, UNUSED for nearly all of the last 4.5 hours or so to do this test (as evidenced by the screen on stats). Look at the awake time in the 2nd half- is this a normal amount of awake time with as little screen on time as I had? I'm wondering if this awake time is what is causing my excessive battery drain. I use SetCPU to use a profile that dramatically underclocks the CPU when the phone is not awake in an attempt to preserve battery life.

The only other thing I can think of is that the radio is draining the battery a lot. The ROM uses a 6 bar signal indicator and mine is usually at 4 out of those 6 bars. I also rarely use 4G because I use WiFi at home. Would upgrading to the .9 battery help?

I've been so disappointed with my battery life compared to what others on these forums are experiencing with about the same level of use as me - maybe 2-3 hours of actual use during the day using the web browser and checking email mostly. The only thing that syncs is my gmail and my work email which syncs once an hour. I've also tried a few different ROMS- CM7, Liquidsmooth, Bamf Cubed, and now Liquid Nonsense.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I don't know but if you consider you've lost 18% in 9.5 hours that translates to 47.5 hours on a charge with 10% left. Sorry but I'm not seeing excessive drain. It would be helpful to see what is using the battery.

I see what you're saying, but remember that half of that time was in airplane mode. Also, the reason I think it's excessive is because when it wasn't in airplane mode I physically used it for less than a minute and it drained 20% in 4 hours. That translates to 20 hours of life using the phone for 5 minutes with only 2 things syncing, gmail and work email that only syncs once an hour. Should I really not expect my phone to even last a day after using it for only 5 minutes? The excessive drain seems to be when the screen is not on and therefore the phone isn't being used.

There are people on this forum who are getting >16 hours of life while actually using the phone. If I use mine for even 10 minutes an hour for just web browsing and email with the brightness set way low I'm lucky to get 8 hours.

I'll let it sit again today and post another screenshot of what is using the battery.

That's still 5% battery drain per hour. That's pretty good, even when you're not using the phone.

20% in 4 hours with use is pretty good battery life on the thunderbolt while not on wifi.
