So my company's exchange server has some security policy requirments, such as:
1. require lock/unlock password
2. remote wipe device if password is entered wrong 8 times
3. 15 min grace period on password re-enter

It seems the droid doesn't support any of the lock screen passwords. Pre 2.0.1 it would connect, but not sync any data. Now it tells me it doesn't support the server's security settings.

My questions are thus:
Is there an app for the droid that will sync email with an exchange server and supports password policies?
Any one know if this is something that will be implemented by Motorola or google?
Any one know if the Eris supports exchagne sync with a password policy?

I just downloaded touchdown based on your recommendation, and really like it so far. It does support the password security, and asks for passwords when you open the app, not when you power on the phone, brilliant!

Not quite the integrated exchange solutions offered by the iphone, palm, winmo, but still real nice.

Grandebob,

Could you perhaps post some details of how you managed to get touchdown to work with exchange with the password security?

I've tried and have been unsuccessful so far . . .

Thanks!!

Touch Down does work great and it's easy to setup. Hopefully android will support security policies in the future.
