Exchange Active Synch in Lollipop synchs everything

Upgrade to Lollipop. Now exchange synch on my Sony Xperia Z3 synchs everything - email, contacts, calendar. I don't want the contacts nor the email. This is my personal phone and I only want to know what my work calendar will be in order to schedule around it.
Even with NONE of the boxes checked in settings, Exchange Active Sync brings over everything. I'm about ready to dump all my contacts from Outlook just so they don't merge in my phone. I use the phone in my car and my car system gives me dozens of choices because all my work contacts are in my phone! ARGH!

I don't know much about Exchange Active Sync but when I took the update, I had to reset my account settings back to manual sync. I also found out that I can't sync from my gmail app. I have to go to the device account settings & sync from there. I hate that because if I hit the wrong sync option (like calendar or contacts) it will mess up my calendar & contacts because Google doesn't want to sync correctly with Samsung.
