Hi, I have an EU Honor 7 on 5.0.2. I noticed battery drain caused by exchange services. I use the EMUI stock email app because the gmail app (version 5.9) doesn't let me sync an exchange account as I did with my previous nexus4 (why this? I totally don't have the choice, only pop3/imap configurable). I noticed that my "Exchange Services" are at version 3.1 while in Lollipop stock there are newer versions. I was wondering if Exchange services should be "paired" with a specific version of the email app, or if I can try to update exchange services (downloading from apkmirror for example) in order to try to solve the battery drain and to try to make gmail app working with exchange accounts.
Thank you

I cannot deactivate the service because I need the service :)
My work email is on MS Exchange 2013 and I can't avoid to sync it on my phone. But I have that problem only on the new phone, on the nexus 4 with android 5.1.1 the gmail app was able to sync my exchange account wihout problems and without battery drain. Now the gmail app cannot sync exchange, I have to use the stock app, and I have battery drain :(

There is some sort of Active Sync bug with 5.0. I had this issue on my Verizon Galaxy S5. All of my email is on hosted Exchange servers and everything was great on 4.x. After the 5.0 update, if you had your sync frequency set to "push", it would continuously ping the server and never release.
I spent a lot of time on the phone with my hosted Exchange provider trying to figure out what was happening, deleted accounts, deleted the phone from the server, factory reset my phone several times, all to no avail.
Change your sync frequency to 5 minutes instead of push. All good.

Have you tried the Outlook app for Android? I'm currently using this to sync with my Outlook.com account and it does not cause any excessive battery drain.
