Expected Price Range of the Note 8?

True I thought 850/950. I believe I read somewhere that was Samsung’s intention but then went with 750/850 because of response of rumors. So I guess they can set price to anything they want for US.

But the + is at $850... they really only going to make Note $50 more? IMO no but we’re all just having fun speculating anyways while waiting. Evan leaks or one of those guys say $925 and he’s suppose to be considered accurate with his leaks?? We will have to see. From how they price differed last years models... I’ll stick with $100 over the +... $950 for 64gb version.

Yet both were rumored to, right here, by some of the same people now saying the Note will cost that much.

Maybe, maybe not.

Re: How much will you spend for a Note 8?

I buy the Note for it's pen and note taking software, I "NEED" it for my business, so price isn't that big of a issue.
No other oem offers what the Note does. I sorely miss my Note 7 and would be happy if I could get that back for the $900 i originally paid for it.

That's exactly what I'm interested in, the business aspect. No one does a phone quite like the Note. I haven't owned one yet.

Re: Why the Note 8 is so expensive?

"perceived" value. I'm sure it doesn't cost much more to manufacture these over the S8's.

It does, and it also doesn't sell anywhere near as many, so sunk costs are spread out over fewer units.

Re: iPhone 8 might cost $1200! Will Note 8 cost a lot now?

Not sure why this was moved to the Galaxy Note 8 Section.
The post i was responding to was about the iPhone

Meh, there are always lots of rumours when it comes to prices of new devices. Websites do like the "shock news" effect to generate views. :) I definitely think the 'special edition' or 'anniversary edition' iPhone will be more expensive but the BASE model, certainly won't be $1,200. You can buy a 13" Macbook Pro (2017) for that money. So people will instantly feel it's bad value for money. I'm still expecting the base model (64GB) to be $899 with the 256GB version coming in at $999 Maybe there will be a 512GB version for $1,200 but highly doubt it. :)

Just my 2c

Different types of phones, different customers

Samsung can charge whatever they want. They recorded record breaking profits lately. However, I think it will be a harder sell forces the consumers and carriers. They are need to determine whether they want more profit per phone or more sales. I think sales is the main driving force IMO.

Right. These rumors pop up every year and everyone is predictably shocked.

it makes sense to base the pricing of Note 8 based on S8 and S8+. but $950 is pretty outrages. My Note Edge was/is the most expensive Samsung phone and I think it was $850 before tax at VZW. Can't remember. I paid around the same amount for my Note Pro 12.2 tablet. Both devices were picked up on first day of release. I hope they keep it at $899 not that the extra 50 makes any difference it just looks too high for pricing.

For that price I might stick with the s8 plus and just get the Tab s3 when it's on sale again later on once I see what the Note is like.

Stop picking on Samsung - Everyone seems to be forgetting that back in October of 2016 when the Pixel/Pixel XL by Google line was introduced, they were up there and folks were throwing dollars around like crazy before they were even available! (Myself included) I was so disgusted with the Note 7 fiasco that I Pre-ordered a 128GB Pixel XL for $1022.00. While sitting and waiting for the thing to come, I read review after review and started to get cold feet, then finally cancelled the order while I could still get a full refund! Just saying, don't make Samsung out to be a bad guy for jumping over the $1000 mark like Apple... Google did it too! I'm sure their new Pixel 2 will bring some BIG prices as well - just wait and see!!! Quit complaining about Samsung alone - it's the market in general!

I get what you're saying but they do have cheaper options (Apple and Google). If the one and only phone is that price from Samsung .. well .. then you have no option if you want that phone.

Point taken, but when you say "Flagship", it usually means loaded too, doesn't?

Depends from person to person. Flagship means mid range to some. Look at OnePlus calling themselves a flagship killer when.. some would definitely disagree :P.

You *do* realize that you don't have to pay it all at once, right?

Payment plans, leases, etc...yes, the alternatives have their pluses & minuses, but at least there are options.

Personally, I lease & use the Galaxy Forever option to trade up after 1 year - technically, the phone isn't mine, but if I'm planning to trade it in anyway, why not make it simple?

Cheaper? Or cost less?
Kidding.

Anyway, Apple iPhone 8 is expected at $1,000, if not more for higher memory.

And from above:

Both comparable to what the Note 8 is expected to be, but the Note 8 might even be less.

My dislike of the Note 8, and probably the 9, is more about size than price. I always liked Samsung, having the S3, Note 4, Note 5, and now the S7Edge. I'm just wondering how much bigger they can get. When will people say....Enough is enough?
