Facebook Battery usage skyrocketed

After my TB auto updated over the weekend, i noticed the GPS icon on the top is on ALOT!!! The only app running that could use the GPS is FB....

...so I went to the battery usage and it shows FB using 59% of the battery, prior to this is was 2-3%.

FB Sync is off, settings haven't changed, has anyone noticed this problem after the most recent update?

I have noticed similar battery usage from Facebook as well. Mine was upwards of 70%on two occasions.

The GPS ticker grinds my gears. Why on god's green earth would they need my location? There should be customizable permissions on apps like that. It damages no function of the app and I never use check in. What with all the bots on Facebook selling personal info the last thing I want is more crap on there I didn't authorize.

What's more is it takes some battery too.

Easy solution..... ditch Facebook! Not only is it a battery killer, but a waste of time! I always leave GPS turned off unless there is a specific need for it (only use Google location services normally). Once the need has been met, back off it goes.

I agree with the GPS locator, but it seems that the update triggered something, as it wasn't doing this prior.

@Synycalwon: I hear you, but its too much fun to lurk around FB!!!! though i will probably just cycle the GPS off and only turn it on when i use Maps, which is the only time i really need GPS.
