If you use friendstream and peeps, then use the HTC one.
If you root and want all the other fb stuff use the official app and delete the HTC facebook app BUT NOT FRIENDSTREAM!!


Either way both are junk.

All I want is to sync Facebook to my current contacts and not have all of my Facebook Contacts added to my Phone Book(when you dial a number you see all your Facebook Contacts)

There is a Bug in there!

I downloaded Flow Free for Facebook and it works better than any of the other FB apps!

I apologize if this is a silly question but I have FB downloaded from the android market, and I know that FB for HTC sense is also on the phone but I only see one app, therefore my question is how do I know which one I am using. Shouldn't there be two apps one that says FB for HTC Sense and the other just FB?

From what I understand, the Facebook app from the market is the one you'll see in your app tray - that's the one you're using. Facebook for HTC Sense is not really a full app, but rather a service that lets you sync contacts, use Friend Stream, share photos, etc. without actually having to install the market app.

Thank you Rem, I was searching my phone for the HTC app lol wanted to make sure I didn't have it listed to sync contacts, can't I just leave all of the sync stuff for FB unchecked, because don't it sync when I open FB? I am asking because I'm not on FB a lot so don't make since to sync all the time. I used to use Friendstream but it was sucking the life out of my battery. Looking for a good twitter app if you have any suggestions

Not a problem! I'm not a heavy Facebook user myself but I do enjoy having the profile photos/info linked to my existing contacts, so the way I have it set up is this:

No FB widget or Friend Stream. If I care enough to open the FB app the news feed will refresh anyway, like you said.
Under Accounts & sync -> Facebook, I have "Sync contacts" checked.
Under Accounts & sync -> Facebook for HTC Sense, I have "Sync contacts" checked with an update schedule of once a day. I leave "Sync live feed" unchecked since I don't use any of those widgets.

As far as Twitter goes I personally swear by twicca, but I've heard a lot of praise for Seesmic and Tweetdeck as well. I say try out a few of them and see which you prefer.

Thank you so much Rem. I had live sync ticked because I didn't know what I was doing lol. I am going to un check all of them and when I go in FB it will auto sync

If you want the actual Facebook app (Profile, Inbox, Notifications, Friends, etc) then get Facebook for Android. Facebook for HTC Sense only ties in facebook integration into contacts and when you share your photos.
HTC- What's the difference between Facebook and Facebook for HTC Sense?

That is what I figured. didnt actually know for sure, but was guessing.

Hey I don't even have an option anymore under people for syncing to FB...( I did delete FB for sense though).

All I ever wanted really is to just have FB profile pics and #'s sync with my existing phone contacts, not create new entries for friends of friends, etc.
