Facebook for HTC Sense not working

^ Thank you. I added my two cents I still dont understand how its an HTC issue. Nothing updated on my phone or anything. Even if its servers they have, I still dont get it. Bc its an app, on the phone. All the data is there? No? Possible its a facebook thing??

Likely a Facebook not an HTC Issue...

Having the same issue as 'fixd' described on my DINC.

Just my 2 cents coming from a web developer...:

I am assuming HTC does not have 'servers' as some are suggesting as a proxy to Facebook as that would be an unneeded liablity and an additional failure point.

HTC as a large 3rd party that develops their Sense UI with an inclusion of Facebook more than likely have a secure connection to FB and since nothing has changed or been updated on our phones it is more than likely Facebook changed something on their end causing this.

If you remember a month or two back there was major issues with the standard Facebook App for Android and for about three days getting status updates etc. was sporadic at best. That was also a Facebook issue.

My only concern is that HTC can quickly identify where the connection is breaking down and has enough pull to notified Facebook to have this ammended.

Then again this is just my best guess know some of the push/pull technologies that make this stuff happen on our sweet Android phones.

I would have to agree. Another issue since we are on the topic of facebook. My facebook app, never ever shows me any notifications. yes, i get the emails and I have the notifications showed up. But honestly, I had a blackberry before and that was just a bomb facebook app. This is crap. And when I do load my notifications, I have to open my browser to even see what it is for and load touch.facebook. Pointless if you ask me.

'fixd' we are on the same page... I was a Blackberry convert too... I do get event invites now and again as well as friends requests.... but they do always open in touch.facebook.

That really has to do with Facebook not having a well polished app for Android. From what I ahve read round the net, alot of folks have been dissapointed in the Facebook app for Android versus the iPhone one.

I would have to assume with the size and speed of the growth of the Android community they won't be able to avoid juicing up the app too much longer.

Ya. I did hear somewhere and I just tried googling for it but couldn't find it that in FROYO, the facebook app will be comepletely stand alone and notifications will be other devices. I truelly hope so, because I use facebook a lot, and ever since I got the droid I been missing a lot of stuff on it.

and you've turned on all notifications in the facebook app, yes? (facebook -> menu -> settings -> check notifications box and check which individual items you want to be notified of. you can also set the the refresh interval there.)

Ya. I've read a lot of places that people are having an issue getting the notifications showing up :/ I'm not to happy that I only recieve emails, usually 20-30 minutes after a post is made and that I have to use the browser after to respond, or even view what the post was. And if I open my facebook up I still have to click the little icon to open the browser to view a post from the notification area.. Seems stupid to me to even have an app. Just bookmark the page on the browser. I really hope this is updated because to me it seems so far behind the rest of Android.

My Facebook for HTC Sense Stopped working today

I am having the same problem that Kelleybp is having. I had to do a factory restore today and when I started adding my accounts the Facebook for HTC Sense function doesn't work at all!

Yay - glad I'm not the only crazy one - I accidentally removed my Facebook account yesterday and when I went back to re-add it, my contacts won't sync - if I go in to the People app and try to get to my Facebook contacts I get Connection Problem error on the screen

since this seems to be happening to everyone - I'll just wait for HTC to fix it

Same problem as everyone else except the FB and the FB for Sense both don't bring up the contacts when I try to sync. Frustrating to get a new phone and to not be able to get it set up right.

try using Bloo. It sends notifications consistantly and pretty quickly. i use that and HiFB for Facebook chat.

By the way I am in the same boat as i just reloaded my inc and lost my fb sync...

seems like any phone running Facebook for Sense

Apparently HTC claims it's Facebook's problem not theirs (something to do with their API's or something)

regardless - it doesn't sound like there's a fix coming any time soon - just a lot of finger pointing

Is there another app out there that can do the same things that fb for sense does? Bloo gets mediocre review at best.
