I tried side loading the Facebook like apk file onto my Nexus 6p but was unsuccessful., I'm not sure why it won't startup on my phone..I hate the full version of Facebook just like a lot of others do.

Yeah I tried that however the news feed isn't the same as what the regular Facebook app does is Facebook. Com shows that's the problem.

Why not just use the browser on your phone? I use Chrome, just sign in, and it auto detects that you're on a mobile device and you get the mobile view.

I run several pages and groups, and I can do just about everything I need to do. I can't even tell you the things I can't do as I've either not missed that function, or don't use it anyway.

Much easier, and simpler than using an app of any type.

Try it, you might like it. :)

Yeah I have tried it before and it's not that I hated it but for the very few times that I received Facebook messages in not getting push notifications for those, that's the problem unfortunately.

Install Messenger then, that should give you the message notifications (although I don't even use that either) And Chrome for the other stuff. Would that work?

At one point I was thinking of that... Messenger itself is also so freaking bloated and used phone resources too much it's ridiculous. I mean using that app version for Facebook 2.2 isn't a bad idea, it's just the very few times I upload photos and try to gps tag myself or someone else in the photos, it won't don't the location and of course my location settings are all on. Do you still suggest I used Facebook mobile though? Thanks for your help! I know I sound annoying, but I'm just very avail about what goes on my phone regarding apps and how much of my phone resources are used regardless of my OS and phone resources if you know where I'm coming from lol

Ok, well consider this. Why do you want the push notifications for FB messages?

Me personally, I'm much happier getting them when it's convenient for me, I open Chrome, do my thing, and close it when I'm done. I don't need to have my phone beeping at me all day and all night, so I do it when I'm good and ready.

If you "do" need the notifications for whatever reason, can you not set FB to e-mail you a notification of a message? Again, allowing you to simply use Chrome without any additional app?

If that's not an option still, then you might have to go with whatever is going to give you the closest result to your expectations, and live with the bloatware etc. Only you can decide what you are happy to accept.

I do add photo's, but I don't GPS tag them, I don't want to. As for tagging, it can be a bit tempremental, but it does work.

Again, it seems to come down to what compromise you are willing to make, and what you are willing to accept and live with.

That's very true and was thinking of the same thing I mean I really don't need an actual app for Facebook whatsoever. Also, to be honest with you, i barely ever use Facebook messenger. I think I'll go back to the mobile version and and go from there. Thanks again!
