Facebook videos keep stopping/pausing

[Android Central Question]

Facebook videos keep either playing and flashing up with the thumbnail for the video or the video pauses every second the video is playing so I have to press play again it's only been happening for last couple days...

I have already cleared cache/data and didn't help at all

Help please

P.s I have the galaxy note 8

Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data?

Definitely send feedback to Facebook via the app's settings menu (assuming they have a feedback option there -- I use the mobile site, since the app tends to be a memory and battery hog).

Same issue on my Samsung galaxy s8. Videos on Facebook will play for a few seconds and then pause causing me to have to continuously hit play. Just started less than a week ago.

Hey guys. I think I know what seems to be the problem. I had the same issue on galaxy s6 with instagram app (videos didn't want to start). You need to switch off battery saving option. I had the same problem with Facebook videos keep pausing every second on my galaxy s8 and then I switched off battery saving and it works for me.
Try it and let me know if it works for you too.

I have a note 8 and having the same issue. The battery saving option is off on my phone as I've never had it on.

I have the same problem. My battery saving option is off. It only happens on Facebook. YouTube, Instagram etc are fine. Very annoying bug. S8+ Here

Same problem with my lenovo moto Z play, started happening a week ago.
I reinstalled the app and now the video continues stopping but it kind of start again automatically, so I get like 2 seconds of smooth playback, than pause, freeze and start the playback again.
When scrolling through the timeline the video plays normally.
