Hey, I am having a problem with not being able to get the traditional (HARD) Factory reset to work. I am doing the hold "x" and power route and nothing, it just pauses on the "m"oto screen until I let go of the buttons. then it flashes a few times and reboots normally. My only other option that I can think of is to reflash the firmware but I still want to know how to get this thing working. Please someone help with this, I cant stand unsolvable puzzles!!!

I am still rocking the Droid 1 with OS 2.2FROYO ROOTED

Once the screen comes on, you can let go of the power and just hold the X. Make sure you are actually holding down X. The buttons aren't great as we all know. Are you coming from being completely off? Battery pull to make sure you are powered off, then try it. Be patient, it can take several seconds to get into recovery.

As far as your poll...wait till after the Thunderbolt. If you look at all the specs, frankly it's not that impressive. Current chip, current screen resolution. Wait for the Bionic.

Try changing the recovery, use Rom Manager to install a different version of clockwork mod recovery.

You've waited this long, what's a little longer if you can get your issue fixed. Are there any phones that really stand out to you right now? Don't settle for something you don't really want.
