Faild to play video Unkown error has occurred

[Android Central Question]

All videos that i have recorded in the last 4 days now have resulted in errors. Either the preview phots hows but when you click to play it, it says Failed to play video, an unknown error has occurred or the preview is replace with a gray block with an exclamation point.

These are not downloaded videos, they were recorded directly from this device so there should not be any format conflict issues.

The issue just started a few days ago. I have restarted the phone but has not resolved the issue. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? What file format are the videos in, mp4? Are they saved to Internal Storage or an SD card?
