My phone recently soft bricked. TouchWiz became unresponsive and then I restarted my phone using the power button.
My phone then proceeds into a bootloop, which I presume is a soft bricked based from reading around.

What I did was downloaded Odin 3.09 then downloaded my stock ROM from sam mobile. After the copying files it went to recovery boot, and then gave me that error when updating.

Need help on this please. I don't have any alternate phones. :/
Much appreciated.

Soft brick = phone doesn't completely boot. A bootloop qualifies. (So does booting into recovery instead of a normal boot.) Hard brick = phone works the same with our without a battery - like a brick.

Download the file again. If it still happens, get an MD5 program for your PC. Then go to Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - XDA Forums and see if anyone has the MD5s for the individual files and the whole zip. (You did unzip the download and load the individual files into Odin, right?) Check the MD5s. One of them is probably wrong, which means the file got corrupted. If the one at the site is corrupted, download the next earlier minor version (you can go from 4.4.4 to 4.4.2, you can't go from 4.4. to 4.3).

You could also ask at a Verizon store, in the back, the tech support area, if they could flash the ROM for you without charging you too much. (The actual labor is about a minute, even though the phone sits there being flashed for about 5 minutes.)

Downloaded three different files on sam mobile, dated months before I purchased my phone.

I unzipped the file and used the .tar.md5 extension. Placed it on the AP box on the files to download. Based form Odin's log, the md5 files im using are all valid.

What I didn't get is the individual files. there are only two files in the zip, one is the actual ROM and the other one is SS_Dl.dll

I tried flashing CM 11. CF auto root, and then CWM, CM 11 then GAPPS, when I rebooted it went directly to Download Mode and it said "Could not do normal boot" at the top.

I'm thinking there must be something really wrong with my phone.

My phone's model is SM-N9005, the international version. XTC Model.

Just did it with earlier ROMs. Still no luck
