Fascinate Call Quality

I am on my second Fascinate in less than a week. The background noise is horrendous. I love everything about the phone, but if I can't talk on it, then it is useless. I'm having a droid x delivered today.

Supposedly, it has noise cancelling microphones.

I can't believe others aren't experiencing the same.

I've had better call quality in a phone, but this is tolerable for me.
Once we figure out how to adjust the excessive sidetone, it will improve.

Everyone's needs are different too.
I may not talk on the phone as much as you do.

The Droid X is an awesome device a well.

I am in my car alot, and if the air is on, people are telling me about all the background noise. And when i am outside, it is magnified even more.

Inside, the call quality is awesome though. The phone just picks up so much background noise.

Agree with that. On my D1 I was able to talk with the radio on, windows down and everyone could here me just fine. With the Fascinate I can't even have my window down a crack. My son made a comment the other day and said it was like I was in a wind storm every time I talk to him. Love the phone and it's just something I'm adjusting to.

I'm not getting the joke. Is it a knock on build quality or something? I'm keeping the Fascinate because I like the screen, form factor and the overall looks a lot better. But as far as quality goes, (call and build quality) the X feels more "solid".

got the X this afternoon. Call quality is ALOT better than the fascinate in my case. Background noise is not near as bad.

I think the joke is some people like Chevrolet's, others like Ford. Every phone out there serves a purpose for somebody.

Some people get these phones to play with. Others (like me) need a phone that can deliver both with features AND its main purpose (make and receive calls).

Agreed.... The phone is totally worthless in the car, inside its OK but you have to hold it right and its fine, no chin shoulder holding with this one
