Froyo for the Fascinate

There is a group on twitter is trying to get #froyogate trending right now. They are doing pretty good, but need as much outside support as possible.

We have been expecting this update for 9 months now and Verizon has told us all that it's "two weeks away" 9 months ago. There have been rumors here and there, none of which came into fruition.

Even if you do not have a Fascinate, could you please take a couple seconds and go on to twitter and type a message to @VerizonWireless and @SamsungMobileUS with the hashtag #froyogate


It could be something like:
@VerizonWirless @SamsungMobileUS Where is #froyo for the #fascinate? #froyogate

Or anything similar. It would be appreciated by all of us.

I am guessing Verizon will have Gingerbread on Droid 2and Droid X before they are able to push an update to any of these phones from Samsung

Verizon...samsung has the update out to other phones that are like ours if i am not mistaken

Today from samsung chat rep. Wouldnt give me any time frame. Froyo for the Mesmerize was about a week ago and that is almost the same phone diff carrier. So I would hope and think the official upgrade will be soon.

I'm already rockin' froyo, but my concern is when I hold off to buy a Samsung 8.9 tablet...wifi version (no carrier branding). This experience with updates, or lack thereof, has soured my pallet in that regards. Know what I mean?

Google recently said they are gonna crack down and take charge to get all these fragmentation issues under control so I assume that means anything that runs the android OS. Hopefully that will be soon and was not just a idle threat to the carriers.

I've waited out over the ipad2, now the Xoom, all for the 8.9"... I hope what you're saying comes to fruition. I hate buying stuff that is never really supported in any long term sense, especially from the get go lol.
