It's not effective use of resources for them to disseminate update information to stores and expect the supervisors to track them. They're sales staff, not the power geeks that know what 2.2 means, nor would 99% of them care to check the phone for 2.2 when they set it up just in case the tags are wrong.

I am ok with that, how about you? My Fascinate ran better on SC than the stock, and with SC 2.9 i am sure that it will run better than the stock Froyo
Someone removed the pic... Rumor control... Content was that the most recent release candidate was turned over to Verizon for testing on March 17 and could take 2-3 weeks...

Obtw, forgot to mention. In my argument with Verizon tech supervisor today, she had the audacity to tell me that the update is coming now & that her phone received the update. LOL!!!!

The official Froyo release for the US Cellular Mesmerize was just announced and is available. The Mesmerize is basically the twin of the Fascinate as they both share the same model number SCH-I500. And what do you think the build number is? You guessed it EC10- the kernel we are enjoying so much. Just to refresh everyone's memory, the Mesmerize was released after the Fascinate, yet they are getting their official Froyo release before us. I would think that would remove any doubt as to the fact that the real culprit in the Fascinate Froyo release is Verizon and all the crap they want forced into the build.

this is very good news for us though. it gives the devs a source to work from. the phones are the same, you can flash a mexmerize rom on a fascinate and it WILL work. it will just say us cell instead of vzw. theres no telling what that would do to your bill, but the important things, hardware, are the same.
I got tired of waiting and installed a custom rom with froyo. It was a piece of cake (took less than 10 minutes) and it is so much better without all the Verizon bloatware. It's like having a new phone. Even when Verizon releases Froyo, I will have zero interest since all the bloatware will still be there.
