This was my intention from day 1 but I kind of decided to wait for the 2.2 before doing so. I can wait a bit longer tbh just stop teasing me rumor people. I have great patience till you give me a date and it comes and goes 3 or 4 times.
Were is our damn MR2 update, I was hoping to get home from school and have either froyo, or a nice maintenance update to fix GPS and other known issues. Guess not =/
yeah i agree with you. i'm just gonna wait to root it until the update comes out. i just got a new fascinate in the mail today. i bricked my last one. wow that sucked. i still want to know what we are supposed to get today. come on verizon give us something? geez

Its obvious, really. All the whining we are doing on this forum is nothing relative to the problems Verizon would have if they released a faulty update.
Facts:
- Maybe 5% of the people that have a Fascinate even know about the pending upgrade
- The Fascinate works well for the most part. Making calls, sending texts, browsing web are all perfectly acceptable.
If they are having problems with the upgrade in testing, which it sounds like they are, it would be idiotic for Verizon to release it. As much as we all say we want the upgrade no matter what, we'd be furious if it bricked our phones.
I am extremely pleased with my phone with root and dj05. Fast gps, free tethering, no real complaints.
The only reason I even care about froyo are the apps that only work with froyo and the touted better battery life. Everyone who is wanting a gps fix should try rooting and flashing 05.
Vzw can take their sweet time for all I care. This device is still like christmas for me.

I'm gonna get a fascinate next week and that's what i need to do (root for gps and tethering, + bloat/bing gone) and the phone will be awesome.

You know something we don't know? I bet you do...
Verizon is selling a dock that requires 2.2 to work 100% (says it on the back), and no car cradle docks that use USB audio work. Considering Verizon is selling said dock, if they fail to release 2.2, all owners of that dock will have a case for a class action lawsuit. Verizon isn't stupid, so you can bet they've requested 2.2 be developed for the Fascinate.
i know about every so many other posts, i actually called VZW today to inquire about the update, the one rumoured for today is just maintenance it will not be froyo. but all that aside, this phone runs well for me, calls , texts, internet speeds. yeah having what most other android software phones would be nice, but i dont use gps on here .... so maybe thats why i dont feel im missing anything. but naming all these updates like they have sure makes you want what is supposed to be the next best thing..... just saying...

My phone isnt getting it. When I hit check for updates, the please wait bar pops up for a second than goes away
