Don't know if you saw this in the other thread, but I was having the cd drive issue too after downgrading and last note I flashed the "official" DL09 Odin package and now my problem is gone! I wasn't sure if it would go away after flashing something else, but I figured I had nothing to lose. So since its the same as the official ota update anyway, if it works you won't have to replace your phone.

Where did you get the Official version?

Ok, not exactly official, that's why "official" was in quotes. It was the one by adrynalyne from the sticky in this forum, he also has the same one over at XDA. I know it's not official, but it's supposedly the same, for the most part, as the OTA that's coming.

I apologize folks if I am somehow the cause of this, but I cannot find a rhyme or reason for it.

User A flashes my DI01 Odin and has problems.
User B flashes the DJ05 Odin and has problems (I did not make this one).
User C flashes the DL09 Odin and it fixes the problems, only to have them come back with my kernel.
User D flashes DL09, fixes problem, and flashes a rom of mine (with no kernel) and the problem returns.

I am going nuts!

So far, no dmesg or logcat has helped me. The only thing (most) users have in common is Windows 7 x64 and are rooted, however some have mentioned OS X as well (unconfirmed). Its not always an Odin either, sometimes its a rom, sometimes, its a kernel.

I have x64 as well, and have not once been able to replicate this.

gunnermike, please PM me. I want to try something, and will share results depending on outcome.

Hey Adrynalyne,

i was able to revive my device by reflashing my device with a different version of Odin, but that doesnt mean it was the version anymore than the reflashing.

My phone has all fucntionality plus it is seen as a cd rom drive..meaning if its not in debug and not mounted its seen as cd rom. but as long as its fully functional who cares about that. i will post up a mirrored version of the other odin, so people can try both.

You forgot User E, who does everything that Users A, B, C and D did and has no problem whatsoever!

Yea, it's frustrating, and I can relate. I tried to set up Fedora on a little file server I have, and absolutely nothing I did could get Samba to share a drive. I used the exact same config files, exact same settings, exact same everything that I used on Ubuntu, which shared just fine. I reinstalled multiple times and was never able to figure it out.

Unfortunately, my happiness at having the problem fixed was a little premature. Its back now - the only things I've done was flash cwm and one of imnuts kernels. But I can still get it to see the phone with the tethered reboot trick so I guess I can live with it. Just thought I'd update.......

Yep I too can live with tethered reboot. Can't beat a clean rom and a lag free, fast kernal!

Indeed I did. I am user E, but I didn't want to dismiss the others ;)

Yeah I saw, and I agree its likely the cause. Just curious if these drivers help. You have to reboot the phone once after installing them.

Nah I been on the 550 drivers since I developed this problem.. which was a day or 2 after DJ05 leak came into IRC. Still have the issue.

I was having that issue but it has been gone since I flashed the full DJ05 odin and then upgraded to adrynalyne's rooted DL09 leak. Haven't had it come back after multiple reboots and kernel changes either.

When I got the issue there was about 3 of us in IRC that complained about it. As time goes on and more ROMs are introduced I'm seeing it more and more. Since DL09 was released it seems its rampant. I see it mentioned every hour!

With this many people having the issue- I would think that someone would figure it out soon. I have my fingers crossed!
