My problem with not always fast charging has been solved. Seems it's the dinky cord we were given on this phone. I found my old s4 and s3 cords, same white block (minus fast charging ) and the cords were so much thicker.

I had read somewhere about the cord size difference so I tried the thicker cord with the fast charger block. Voila. Fast charging 100% of the time.

I had a similar issue in which I had to plug and unplug my phone 5 to 6 times before fast charger would be recognized. Troubleshooting with Samsung revealed an issue with my phone and they requested I ship it in for repair. The phone was only a couple of weeks old, how dare they propose such a terrible idea. I took it into Verizon showed them the issue and they swapped out the phone on the spot with a new one. Problems solved.

Yeah, the cable included with the phone is very low quality.

At work I just leave the phone plugged into USB on my desktop and the connection to the PC goes in and out using that cable. Thought there might have been something going on with the phone/charging port, but any other of the dozen cables I have is fine.
